Winston and Other subordinate Unions t» Assiat in the Festivitien Clancy Miuora' 1Tunin ut this city aro preparing to celebrate in grand style the seventeenth anniversary of the or- ganization of Miners' Union ' s in Mon- tana. To this end a committee has been appointed eori L sisting of Jesse Wilkiuson, Thos. Cassidy, Robert Petersim and Jack Stillman who have made arrange- ments to hold the celebration at Aiham- • bra Hot Springs on Thursday, June 13. A general invitation has been extend- ed to sister unions throughout the state, many of whom have promised to present in large force, with their wives and sweethearts, and the occasion prom- ises to be a red letter day in the history of the Union. The merchatite of Lump City, Helena and Clancy have responded liberally to the oall of the committee, (considering the tightness of the money market and the low price of silver) and several quite handsome prizes are hung up for the successful contestants. There will be a drilling contest, base ball game, foot races, etc., the whole to end with a grand hall in the pavillion in the park and in the ball room of the Hot Springs Ho- tel. A large attendance is expected (rom the capital and a special train has been provided. Higgins Cadet band and orchestra will furnish the music for the oceasion. Everybody invited. Follow- ing is the program : PROGRAM. Drilling match, 15 minutes, go - as -you - please, single hand, let prize, $20.00, sec- ond prize, $10.00. Entarance, $3.00. Tug of war, 10 men on side, prize $20. $3.00 per team entrance tee. Base ball game, prize $20.00. Foot race, 100 yards, first prize, $15.00; second prize, box of 50 tine cigare. Sack race, prize, set fine drawing in- otrionents. Throwing the hammer, 12 pounds, tiret prize, box , if 50 fine cigare. Catching greased pig, prize, 3 bottles of Gudetel wine. Pupatented Mining Claims Must be Rep_ resented This Year A great many people who own mining , laime are laboring under the impres- , iti that their ground will not have to be ropresented this year, but this im- pression is wrong. In order to make the title valid the regulation amount of work will have to be performed, but claim owners have until Jan. 1 in which to do it.
