The Beavers placed one'run ner in both the boys and girls races. Jay Mclsaac placed 21st with a time of 16:48. The win ning time Was turned in by Darold Foote of Colstrip who ; turned in a time of 15:07. Melissa . Miller finished 28th overall, but her'tjm e was not available. Brenda Naber of Havre won the race with a time of 18:59. \From the southwestern area Jay Mclsaac was the third fin isher and Melissa Miller first,” noted Head Coach Bob Carroll. *1 feel we are right around the corner from being a veiy suc cessful team.” The BCHS cross-countiy awards ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. in the'Bee Center on Wednesday evening. Anaconda broke open a tight 19-12 game with 14 fourth quar ter points. Dillon jumped on the board 'first when Ryan Speirs pulled in a Shawn Walker pass and raced 27 yards into the end zone. The final Beaver score came when Walker was on the receivingendof a 16-yard touch down strike from Jake Dennehy. The froshmores finished the season with a 4-3 mark, includ ing four straight shutouts over sub-varsity foes. The team be gan the season 0-2, but re bounded to post an impressive record. The Falcons took the lead in the third period, but saw the game slip away in the final frame. 1 Elyn McAIear led the Falcons with 20 points, while Amy P hil lips added 10.' Saturday the Lima Bears ran into a whirl-wind by the name of Teny Gonzales. Gonzales scored 39 of the 47 points for Mountain View in their overtime victory. Mountain View started quick, jumpingtoa 13-10 lead afterthe first quarter. Lima came back to tie the game a t 21-21 at the half. Thesecondhalfwas tightly contested as both teams would grab the lead. Regulation time ended with the score tied at 38- 38. Mountain View outscored the Bears 9-5 in the extraframe. Mountain View was whistled for 33 fouls, but the Bears could only connect on 15 o f 41 foul shots. The Bears were led by Stacy Olsen with 19 points. In Class “C\ action this week Sheridan, 5-8, will host the Butte Central Jayvees on Wednesday, then travel to Twin Bridges, 6-9, on Friday, before returning home to face Three Forks Saturday. Lima, 3-9, w ill host Whitehall Friday and Ennis Saturday.
