c Tuesday,Oct.24, iW - ip a a ia m | Obituaries I n e z S a s s m a n E d w a r d s Word has been received by Otto Sassman of the death of his sister, Inet Sassman Edwards of Monte- sano, Wash. She passed away at her home Oct. 16. * She was bom March 24,1909 in Dillon to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sassman. Sheattendedlocal schools and after graduating from Beaver head County High School she worked at the Golden Rule Store in Dillon until it was purchased by JCPenney Co. for whom she Contin ued worldng until her marriage to Clyde Edwards. Bom to them was one son, Rydel Glen. Hie family moved to Waah- ingtoninthe mid-1980s. She worked in Aberdeen, Wash., in the Medical Records Center of the Aberdeen Hospital until her retirement She was preceded jn death by her husband in 19S9andhersonin 1986. Surviving are her daughter- in-law, Mrs. Rydel Edwards and several grandchildren; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Oren and Winnie Sassman of Salmon, Idaho, and Otto and Elsie Sassman ofDillon. She was buried in the Monte- sano Cemetery Oct. 20. W i l b e r t A . A r c h e r Funeral services for Wilbert A. Archer, 72, were held at the Melrose ■Church of the Big Hole Oct. 21, with the Rev. Dave Anson officiating. Burial was in the Dillon Mountain View Cemetery. Mr. Archer was bom Aug. 24, 1917 in Vigo County, Ind., to Albert and Nellie Archer. He and Lora Alice Underwood were married in 1939 and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in June of 1989. He worked for the triple Cs (Civil Conservation Corps), and the UP Railroad for whom he workedfor 30 years, retiring in 1970. He belonged to the Melrcee Fire Department for 14 yean and served as a trustee with the Melrose School District. His favorite hobbies included hunting, fishing and camping. HeitfWrvived by his wife, £«ra ( daughter* and sjms-i n -lmw, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Osborn ofDillon and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Harvey of Divide; seven sons and.daughters- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Archer and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Archer, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs. Teny Archer of Ramsey, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Archer of Bancroft, Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Archer of Eagle, Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Colin ' Archer ofMelrose, andMf. ^rid Mrs. Rodney Archer ofWinnemucca,Nev. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A daughter and a son preceded him in death. M y r t l e D . She worked for the Milwaukee Rail road in Missoula for 49 years retir ing in 1973. She was preceded in death by her husband Leo A. Hamilton in 1952andher son Don in April 1989. Mrs.Hamiltonissurvivedbytwo grandchildren, John T. Hamilton of Dillon and Lisa Hamilton McGinley of Portland, Ore..and two great grandchildren, Kelly and Sean McGinley, also of Portland, Ore. Police Oct 16 - Jim Millerreportedthat a plastic grain shovel and a weed whip had been taken from his ve hicle. Oct 17 - Rooster Reynolds, 27, of Twin Bridges was served a com plaint and warrant on a charge of disorderly conduct in' connection with an incident at the Club Bar Oct 11. Subject pled guilty and was fined $100. Also served in connec tion with the same incident was Tim F. Garrison, 21, of Glen. He pled guilty and was fined $100. Oct. 19 • Bill Mular reported that sometime during the night his resi dence had been egged. Oct. 20 - Joseph P. Wayne, 19, arrested ona charge of fraudulently altering an identification card and misdemeanor assault in connection with an incident at Town Pump on East Helena Street Oct. 19. Oct 20 - Con Grisak of Great Falls reported to the Dillon Police that while he was turning his ve hicle onto Sebree Street from North IdahoStreethe misjudged the turn, ran over the curb and knocked the street sign down. He paid $35 to the City ofDillon for the cost of repairs. Oct.21 -MarilynMerrillreported that her son's bike had been run over while parked at the married student apartments at Western Montana College. Oct 22 • Robert E.Wagenknecht, 61, of Leadore, Idaho, was served with contempt of court in connec tion with citations given by the Dillon Police in 1988. He posted $120 bond and given notice to ap pear before Judge Lynch. Oct 22 - William A. Beyrer, 66, was arrested on chaige of misde meanor theft after illegally stealing a six-pack of beer from Safeway. Subject was transferred to Galen State Hospital with the case con tinuing in Dillon City Court. Oct 22 - Brad Roy reported that while his vehicle was parked on North Montana Street it had been hit and run.; Oct 23 - Police received a report of a 14-year old runaway out of Dillon. The juvenile was located later that day and cited in Lynn Giles juvenile court as a runaway and a curfew violation. Oct 23 - At 1:50 a.m. police re ceived a report of ti disorderly per-, son in the parking lot at Safeway. Hie matter was resolved and no arrests were made.
