The Ennis Mustangs won the 11-C championship with a 73-57 win over Harrison Saturday nigftt The Falcons trailed 19-16 at the h a lf and 28-24 after, three periods, but dominated action in the final quarter. ElyniMcAlear led the way with 13 points. The Sheridan Panthers and Lima Bears saw their season come' to a close as both were eliminated in loser-out tilts. •Twin Bridges began the tour nament with a 77-37 loss to Ennis in semi-final action. The Falcons started fast, grabbing a 17-13 lead after one quarter, but the Mustangs, rallied and had their own way in the final three frames; \ Elyn McAlear pumped in 18 points to lead the Falcon s. The Falcons came back strong on Saturday and posted two impressive wins, llie Falcons eliminated the Lima Bears in Saturday morning loser-out action63-27, then set themselves up forthe challenge game with a 65-44 win against Sheridan. Against Lima the stingy Fal con defenseheld the Bears score less for the entire fifst quarter and took a 36-11 lead into the locker room a t the half. The second h a lf was again a showcase for the Twin Bridges offense. Amy Phillips led the way with 13 points, while Leslie Perry added 12 and Elyn McAl ear chipped in with 11. Lima got llpointsfromStaey Olsen. Twin Bridges received bal-' anced scoring in route to the victory over Sheridan. Four Falcons scored in-double figures with Elyn McAlear and Phillips scoring 15 points each. Perry added 13, while Miller tossed in 12. , ' Sheridan got 18 points from Kelly Ludwick and 10 from Danette Day. Sheridan dropped it's first game to Harrison 50-43, but rebounded to defeat West Yel lowstone 43-40 Saturday morn ing. Harrison broke open a close game in the second quarter and held off a late Panther Tally for the victory. ' Shanna Carter and Day scored 12 points each, while Ludwick added 11 points and 23 rebounds! Against West Yellowstone the Panthers rallied from an early deficit to take a slim 22-21 h&lftiroe lead. The second h a lf was a battle as the Panthers could not shake the Wolverines.. Ludwick scored 13 points to ‘ lea d the way, while Day chipped in with 10. The lim a Bears began with upset on their mind against. Harrison. The Wildcats wily 28- 23 lead a t the half. but pulled away in the third quarter to preserve the victory. Stacy Olsen scored 20 points for the B ean. Twin Bridges will advance to the divisional tournament to begin in Missoijla on Thursday. n o t c h f i r s t w i n The Western Montana Col lege Lady Bulldogs, behind double figure scoring from five players, opened the 1989 season wiui a 63-54 win over North west Nazarene last Friday. Senior center Tammy S u tliff poured in 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Lady Bulldogs to victory. Junior Bobette Sand sparked the o£ fense scoring 14 points, dishing out nine assists, and pulling down six rebounds. The Bull dogs also got 11 points from Krystel Williams and 10 points each from Darci Sturm and Stacey Shockley. The Lady Bulldogs' rallied from a 37-33 halftime deficit to post the victory. Smith also converted on 12 of 13 free throw attempts. Smith scored 10 points against Lewistown, 12 against Belgrade and also pulled down 11 rebounds against the Panthers.
