Obituaries Harold Reichart, Sr. Harold \Hal\ Reichart, S r., 78, died Tuesday, October 26, at Barrett Memorial Hospital at Dillon, Montana. He was born July 29, 1926 at Redding, Pennsylvania to Mayberry and Mabel (Boyer) Reichart. He was raised and at tended school in Pennsylvania. He then entered the U.S. Navy and served during WWII. He then en tered the U.S. Marine Corp. After the service he lived in California and worked as a pipefitter in the shipyards and later worked at a GM plant. He then moved to Montana and mar ried Phyllis Warner who preceded him in death in June 1980. They had a son: Harold Reichart, Jr. They lived near Missoula where he worked for Champion Sawmill and later moved to Kalispell, Sand Point, Idaho, Waterloo where he worked on ranches, and then to Ennis where he worked at the Channels and later for the Airline Cable Company. He married Marsha Lynn Mager May 24,1986. He then con tinued to work for Airline Cable Co. and later operated the Jack Creek Saloon. In 1991, he bought the Long horn Bar in Dillon which he has owned and operated until his death. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #16 of Dillon, Order of Eastern Star of Dillon, and Mt. American Legion of Dillon, and a member of the Bagdad Shriners. He was also a member of the Montana Southern Shrine Club and Marine Corp. League. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers: Ray, John, Mayberry, Beryl, Ralph, and Charles Reichart. Survivors include his wife, Marsha Reichart of Dillon, sons: Harold Jr. and Laura Reichart, and children, Julie Anne, Harold Ray III, Grace Nicole, and Ken neth Allen Reichart of Medford, Oregon; Mike and Nancy Kapfer of Spokane and children, Paul, Jayson, Brandon and Kayla Kapfer; Tim Guy of Las Vegas; Thomas and Jessie Mager of Dillon and son, Scott Mager; daughters, Melissa Guy and friend Floyd Weekly of Dillon and children, Jessica Elaine Guy, Travis Weekly, and Taryn Weekly; Teresa Mager of Dillon and daughter, Cynthia Welborn. Also surviving are his broth ers and sisters: Howard Reichart, Kenneth and Ruth Reichart, Fern Furillo, Jane and Nate Quinter of Pennsylvania, Paul and Charlotte Reichart of Three Forks, and Grace Endy and family of Butte. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Baghdad Shriners Center 314 West Park Butte, Montana 59701, or the Dillon Nile Club #2-77, Clark's Lookout Road Dillon. Montana 59725. A graveside memorial service with military honors were held Friday October 29 at the Madison Valley Cemetery at Ennis. Eugene R. Ross Eugene R. \Punky\ Ross, 68, died Thursday, October 28 in Dillon. He was born June 15, 1936 to Mabel (Sabin) Ross and James Asael Ross. He worked for various ranches, was a laborer, mechanic, and a lumber grader for F.H. Stoltz Land and Lumber Com pany. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish and hunt with his family and friends. He is survived by his sisters Shirley Mills of Butte and Gayla McCord of Dillon, and brother Earl Ross of Nevada, as well as his children, Charlene (Robert) Macioroski of Butte, Terry (Kathy) Ross of Whitehall, Ralph Ross of Butte, Mike (Lynette) Ross of Florence, Sandra (Kyle) Christianson of Connecticut, and Christine Davis of Ronan. Also surviving are numerous grand children, one great granddaugh ter, and his cat, Malcolm Meow. Cremation has taken place. As per Punky's request, there will be no services. Memorials are suggested to the Make a Wish Foundation, Camp Mak-A-Dream, American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice. October 20 10:22 a.m. A report was re ceived of a female juvenile run away hiding at a friend's house. 10:26 a.m. A parking complaint was received from MD's Auto. The owner was contacted and the vehicle was moved. 11:19 a.m. Abandoned vehicle, Virginia and North Washington. 3:13 p.m. A report was re ceived of the theft of a yellow ribbon from a car, E. Reeder. 5:21 p.m. A report from W. Park Street was received of a fe male juvenile who had left her house without permission. 10:02 p.m. A report was re ceived by a concerned citizen that a house not presently occupied had been broken into. The officer could not find anything that indi cated a break-in. 11:37 p.m. A report was re ceived from S. Atlantic Street that residents of a neighboring house were being noisy. The residents were contacted and told to keep the noise down or face charges. October 21 9:47 a.m. A parking complaint was received from Skihi St. 10:49 p.m. A woman was ar rested in the Safeway parking lot for driving under the influence of alcohol. October 22 11:34 a.m. A report was re ceived from the GuestHouse Inn of an unwanted person. The indi vidual was determined to be a transient and was removed with the warning not to return. 1:19 p.m. A report was re ceived from Kentucky Avenue of a suspicious-acting person stand ing by a couple of parked vehicles. The individual was identified and reported to the officer that she was waiting for a ride home. 7:53 p.m. A report was re ceived of a motor vehicle acci dent at the intersection of Helena and North Pacific streets. There were no injuries. Both drivers were issued citations. 10:28 p.m. A report of a care less motorcycle driver was re ceived from S. Atlantic Street. October 23 2:45 p.m. A report of a theft of several magnetic ribbons from a car was received. The vehicle was parked at Safeway. 6:48 p.m. A report of harass ment from family member was received. October 25 8:04 a.m. A report was re ceived that a vehicle had been vandalized while it was being re paired at a local repair facility. 8:42 p.m. A report was re ceived of a traffic complaint at the intersection of Helena and Montana streets. The complaint was in reference to vehicles turn ing left from Montana Street onto Helena Street and not yielding the right of way to vehicles traveling north of Montana Street with the green light. 9:42 a.m. A report was re ceived of the theft of petty cash from a local office. 12:39 p.m. A report was re ceived of a shoplifter at Alco. The report is under investigation and a warrant is pending. October 26 5:40 a.m. A report of a theft from a parked vehicle was re ceived from South Montana Street. 1:53 p.m. A report of a shop lifter detained by an employee at Alco was received. The individual was issued a citation for misde meanor theft and released with an appearance date set in city court. 4:20 p.m. A report was re ceived from a schoolbus driver that a vehicle had passed the bus while it was unloading children on Highway 41. 5:28 p.m. A report was re ceived of a hit and run motor ve hicle accident on Vigilante Drive. 10:24 p.m. A report was re ceived of individuals going door to door on Cloudrest selling maga zines. October 27 2:49 a.m. A request was made for a welfare check for a resident of Bicentennial Apartments. 11:08 a.m. Theft, big Town Pump. 12:51 p.m. Vehicle inspection, NorthStar Yamaha. 3:24 p.m. A dog was reported running at large on W. Reeder Street. 8:10 p.m. A report of an eld erly male receiving a threaten ing phone call was received. The incident is under investigation. October 28 12:29 a.m. Received a noise complaint from a resident of S. Atlantic Street. 2:48 a.m. Received a report of a theft of a newspaper dispenser from in front of the Klondike. 12:56 p.m. A report of barking dogs was received, from North Pacific Street. 3:27 p.m. A traffic accident was reported at the intersection of Morse and Washington streets. The crash resulted in damage but no injuries. One of the in volved drivers received a citation for right of way violation. 7:59 p.m. A local resident re ported a harassing phone call. The number was called by the inves tigating officer and it was found to belong to an automated dialing system Sheriff News October 13 8:36 a.m. The Lima Scale called to report a possible DUI. Based upon the results of a portable breath test, the driver was ar rested and transported to the Beaverhead Detention Center for DUI. The individual posted bond and was released. 1:10 p.m. A Dillon motorist was cited for speeding, improper pass ing and driving without a valid license. 1:15 p.m. Misc., Sundowner Motel. 1:49 p.m. A deputy cited a Dillon resident for speeding on Laknar Lane. 4:05 p.m. A Bozeman resident was arrested after a traffic stop on outstanding warrant from Gallatin County. The individual posted bond and was released. 5:05 p.m. A deputy issued a citation to a local resident for speeding on Laknar Lane. 5:27 p.m. A Jackson motorist was issued a citation by a deputy for speeding on Laknar Lane. 7:08 p.m. A deputy issued cita tions to a motorist for driving without a valid drivers license and for obstructing a peace officer after the motorist attempted to elude the officer. 9:20 p.m. Beaverhead Ambu lance was requested to transfer a female to the hospital who was not breathing. October 14 1:43 a.m. A suspicious person was reported in the Glen area. The responding deputy advised that everything was okay. 3:20 a.m. A deputy was dis patched to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Sweetwater Road. There were no injuries but two individuals were cited. One indi vidual for MIP and obstructing a peace officer and one individual for DUI. 2:22 p.m. A deputy reported an abandoned vehicle on 1-15 at mile marker seven. 3:11 p.m. An Ontario motorist was cited for speeding by a deputy on 1-15. 3:58 p.m. A deputy issued a speeding citation to a Pennsylva nia motorist for speeding on 1-15. 7:41 p.m. A Reserve Deputy issued a Montana Highway Pa trol form to a motorist involved in a deer versus vehicle accident. 10:19 p.m. A cow was reported loose on the old Service Road, and the owner was contacted. The call was cancelled because the fire was out. 1:53 p.m. Beaverhead Ambu lance requested to transport an individual to the hospital who was not feeling well. 7:23 p.m. An individual re ported hitting a deer on 1-15 north of Dillon. A deputy followed the vehicle to town. 7:44 p.m. Sheriff's Dispatch received a report of a vehicle hit ting a deer on 1-15 one or two miles north of Dillon. October 16 2:44 p.m. A deputy spoke to an individual who advised a 10 year old juvenile had admitted he was running away from home. The deputy advised the child's mother had returned and was on her way to pick him up. 1 October 17 12:44 a.m. The Lima Scale re quested a driver’s license check on an Idaho driver. 8:53 a.m. An individual re-, ported two goats on the interstate near Barretts Minerals headed north. The goats were located at Barrett Park. 12:05 p.m. A deputy was re-, quested for an assist, 1-15 north bound lane Monida exit. 3:54 p.m. Beaverhead Ambu lance requested to meet Life, Flight at the airport. 5:48 p.m. A deputy and High way Patrol was dispatched to a one-vehicle rollover on Highway, 43. There were no injuries. October 18 9:27 a.m. A deputy was re-, quested for an assist. 12:22 p.m. A deer was reported injured on Sage Creek Road. The sheriff advised the problem was, taken care of. 12:28 p.m. The Sheriff's Office received a report of criminal mis? chief. * 1:04 p.m. A reckless driver was' reported driving down Montana Street. The vehicle could not be located. , 2:14 p.m. A deputy informed the Livestock Inspector of an ani mal complaint concerning dogs harassing cattle. 6:17 p.m. A large column of smoke was reported in the Grass hopper Area. The Grasshopper Fire Department was dispatched.. The fireman advised that the fire, was a controlled burn. 8:22 p.m. A deputy issued a speeding citation to a Twin. Bridges motorist, Highway 41 mile marker eight northbound. , October 19 10:08 a.m. The Sheriff's Office, is investigating the vandalism of mailboxes on Schuler Lane. 12:30 p.m. The Beaverhead Ambulance was requested for a. patient transfer to Missoula. 2:41 p.m. An ambulance was requested to transfer a male to the hospital who had collapsed. • 4:00 p.m. Beaverhead AinbMt lapc^ wa/j reqqested ((> meet ^ife Flight at the airport.
