It AVas an absolute ball watching the 4Red Sox break the curse and win the Âyorld series. The ALCS versus the ^Yankees was simply incredible. It left a void when baseball ended for fhe year. I could have watched an other ten games of that great action. Did you notice when the cameras •showed sections of the fans? About one in ten had a cell phone stuck in ’their • car. Turn the dang phone off land enjoy I he moment. *;■ I loved the home made signs at all the games. There are some real ere- ■ative people out there. I had watched •both the Democratic and Republican •Conventions and I think Congress •should pass a law that at the conven tions, only home made signs are le gal. There would be no more sign a .'minute situations where the crowd ;would be cued to hold up a certain ;mass produced sign at the \just right\ •moment. • You know where I'm coming from, fit's been interesting and educational, hut I'll sure be glad when the elec tions are over. The victory avenged an early season loss to the Vikings and sends Sheridan into the second round of the 16-team bracket for the third consecutive year. \Things went well for us,\ said Sheridan coach Ed Burke. \We had some opportunities early that we squandered for different reasons but in the second quarter we got things rolling.\ Unlike the previous week when the Panthers toppled then #9 Philipsburg with three, four and five yard runs on time consuming drives, Sheridan fea tured the big play to rattle off four touchdowns in the second quarter. The only negative on the quarter was Sheridan's inability to convert the PAT play, a reoccurring situation on the season. Senior quarterback sandwiched two deep strikes to playmaker Pete Rossister around a short throw to Ryan Wood for three consecutive touchdowns via air mail. Rossiter's romps into the end zone covered 34 and 41 yards, while Wood gathered in his ball and rumbled for 26 yards. 1ate . in the half Wood scooped up a fumble and ran it back 15 yards for another score. Senior linebacker Calder Kaatz, who has posted incredible tackle numbers on the season, crunched a Charlo runner to force the fumble deep in Charlo country.
