Every woman has secret de- sire to write—checks. Five secrets of happiness— Money, money, money, money, money. The law says girls are minors until they're twenty-one. But a lot of them are gold diggers all their lives. On an island in the South Pac- ific there are no taxes, unemploy- ment, crime, beggars, jazz bands, radios, or inhabitants. She was only a second-hand dealer's daughter—that's why she wouldn't allow much on the dav- enport. Vally Swan—\Yes this is a nice little apartment, but I don't see any bath.\ Landlady—\Oh pardon me! I thought you were one of those college boys who want a place just for the winter.\ SOCIAL SWIRLS Here we are again with our notes to you. Angelo Kalaris STUDENT OF THE WEEK Good-looking Angelo Kalaris is this week's student of the week. \Angie\, as he is fondly nick- named, is a familiar sight around EASTERN or driving around in his long bla-!k Cadillac. Beginning his seventh quarter here at EAST- ERN, Angie is majoring in Busi- ness Administration. He doesn't have any definite plans for the future but thinks he might like to finish in an out-of-state college. Although not musically talented himself, Angie is very apt in the art of music appreciation and has quite a record collection. He es- pecially likes piano music. He also likes girls. Any flavor is all right with him, but we have a suspicion that he prefers a certain high school girl. Angie is a member of the Naval Reserve and an active DeMolay. If you don't know Angie, make it a point to meet him, he's really an all around good Joe. is Norman Christensen's. His friends had a get together for him last Tuesday. Congratulations (Although a bit late). Wouldn't you think that with so much to do during college life — e x t r a curricular activities, studying (?), classes and all — a person would just like to rest up a bit on his lunch hour? How- ever, the \big five\ don't seem to think so. For they, Dorothy Cohn, Estelle Strong, Kathleen Baker, Janet Hartley and Carolyn Mc- Coy walked up ALL those steps to the rims the other day. News flash! The engagement of Pat Carty and Dean Bergman has just been announced. Best wishes to both! The time has come to bid adieu. P. S.—Who is Pablo from Pueblo?
