Mary Nan Barr and Joe Hill were married New Year's eve, but they're spending this quarter student teaching at the McKinley grade school. Also among the knot-tiers are Bud Rist and Yvon- ne Robbins. Rumor has it that after February 3, Joan Hartley and Lowell Borgen will join these ranks. Congratulations to all of you and may your ftures be ever bright. Bonnie Olson and Rosie Rush have blossomed out with \third- . finger, left-handedness\ since re- ceiving engagement rings from Gene rBanca and Frank Kamlow- sky, respectively. We can't vouch for the ambidexterity of Chris Glantz, now that Jack England presented her a ring. According to more rumors, a certain foot- ball player gave his girl a ring, but because, for five months or ninety-five letters, the arrange- ment is simply \going steady,\ the names must remain anony- mous. The next part is dedicated to all the . holidays with Kleenex or nursing sprained toes. This cate- gory doesn't seem to include milk- man Keith Thomas' ulcers, which were removed during Christmas. Just before he had a severe case of - athletic ointment.\ but by the time he entered the hospital that sit-uation was behind him. Keith's speedy recovery will soon enable him to play with the basketball team. A doctor was worried about Pat Harrington's bad cold turn- ing into flu before the game in Wyoming, so he prescribed a shot of nenicillin. To quote Pat, \It wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't had to sit on the bench so much!\ Seriously, we were very sorry to hear about Bill Kelly, who suffered a heart attack and must spend six weeks in the hos- pital. Jackets Busy Over Holidays Eastern's varsity cagers won a game and lost two during the holiday season. The Yellowjack- ets, favorites in the Powell Invi- tational tournament, fell in their first game by a 67 to 65 count to Northeast Center of Sheridan. The \Jackets\ salvaged third place in the meet by downing a good Colorado frosh quint 59 to 55. Eastern fell again to the scrap- py Northeastern cagers, 72 to 68, on the Sheridan court. Gilbert, Shepherd and Heins paced the \Buzzers\ with 12, 10, and 10 points each. Snyder led the Lions with 16 points. The \Jackets\ were minus the services of their ace guard, Keith Thomas, who was on the ailing list, but is ex- pected to be ready for limited action in the Rocky Mountain game January 9. Eastern's JVs won their seventh game as they blasted Steinies Tavern, a local independent team, 66 to 45. Sorg, with 20 points and Wakenshaw with 15 led the Baby Buzzers.
