Eastern's Student Union Board Wins Andrew Berwick Plaque IMI C Eastern's Student Union Board was presented the Andrew Berwitk Award at the annual Region 11 Con- ference of the Association of College Unions at Oregon State College Octo- ber 30 through November 1. The Berwick Award is given annually to the college or university whose stu- dents have made the most outstand- ing contributions and have demon- strated the greatest growth and im- provement in their Student Union for the current year. The two institu- tions which previously received the award were the University of Oregon in 1957 and the University of Wash- ington in 1956. Members of Eastern's delegation to the conference were: Marvin Carter, Student Union Board president; Jim Wrightson, regional representative; Sue Thompson, secretary; June Ham- ilton, treasurer; Virginia Ramus; and Miss Carol Saunders, Dean of Wom- en and adviser. Wrightson presided over one of the discussion meetings, and Miss Thompson served as a summarizer for one of the meetings. Over 200 delegates from the north- west pacific coast area attended the conference. Six Cons to Show Day Later at SUB \My Six Convicts\ scheduled for viewing Wednesday, Nov. 12 has been advanced to Thursday, Nov. 13, Carol Saunders, dean of women, re- vealed. The change has been ef- fected to allow for Eastern's open house which has been set for Wednesday evening. Movie time is 7:15 p.m. November 7, 1958 Campus to Observe NEA Week Nov. 12 With Open House Parents of Eastern Montana Col- lege of Education, teachers in Yel- lowstone County, and high school students from the Midland Empire will have a chance to visit the campus Wednesday, Nov. 12 when Eastern holds \open house\ from 7 to 9 p.m. to commemorate National Education Week, Willard Stibal, com- mittee chairman, revealed Monday. In conjunction with NEA week, Nov. 9-15, Eastern will present an evening of activities for interested spectators which will include a spe- cial chemistry laboratory session, a library display, and an art exhibit. Student organizations will have rep- resentatives at special tables to tell about their activities. Tours of campus buildings and departments will be conducted at various times during the evening. Eastern's 55- member band will conduct a special rehearsal program for the visitors. In addition many faculty members will be on hand for information and discussion with parents and visitors. Eastern's Campus School, the only school of its kind in Montana, will be a point of interest during the eve- ning. Special displays constructed by the elementary pupils will be shown. Other members of the NEA Committee assisting Stibal are V. H. Grosshuesch, W. F. Hoheisel, R. E. Troyer, W. D. Williams, W. F. Clark, and Mrs. P. Smith.
