What is this?
Optical character recognition (OCR) is an automated process that converts a digital image containing numbers and letters into computer-readable numbers and letters. The search engine used on this web site searches OCR-generated text for the word or phrase you are looking for. Please note that OCR is not 100 percent accurate. If the original image is blurry, has extraneous marks, or contains ornate font styles or very small text, the OCR process will produce nonsense characters, extraneous spaces, and other errors, such as those you may see on this page. In addition, the OCR process cannot interpret images and may ignore them or render them as strings of nonsense characters. Despite these drawbacks, OCR remains a powerful tool for making newspaper pages accessible by searching.

Study Habits—Part III Student Should Set Goal The third article in the study hab- its series by Dr. W. A. Garrison is centered around the student's psycho- logical point of view. The student must see the value of having a college education. He should set a goal for himself and work to- ward it. If a person is forced to go to college he will not receive the bene- fit he should from the training. The student should have broad in- terests and views on matters. It is an immature person who thinks he should concentrate only on courses which are of interest to him. Many students wonder why certain courses are required. They are certain the courses will be of no use to them. But a person will find out differ- ently when he gets out into the world on his own. Recent surveys show that people with a general education are preferred by employers to those with- out one. There is an important part for ev- eryone to play in this world. The student should work hard and prove this to himself and to the whole world.
