i S e n i o r C l a s s P l a n s L C H S Annual 1 9 4 5 P r o p h e c y C o m m u n i t y H a l l B a r b a r e H i c k e y L e a d s P l a y C a s t Barbara Hickey has leading role, that of Miss Jane Trimble, in the junior class play, Aunt Cathie’s Cat, which will be presen ted on the LCHS stage on Friday, Novem ber 15 ✓ Other characters in the play, which is di rected by the class adviser, Mrs. C. E. Willey, are: Miss Cathie Trimble -- Betty Collins Peggy Trimble --------- Dorothy Bragg Dorothy Trimble ------- Dorothy Johnson Bill Pryor ------------ Tom Ambrose Maria Garcia ---------- Lita Lynn Jose Garcia ----------- Jack~Bright Tilly P itts ----------- Betty Fergerson Elizabeth Pryor ------- Bonnie Crane Gas Man - Bobby Palmer Officer --------------- James Kuchenski David Brent ----------- Gordon Mikelson Corpse ------ John Swing George Drake is the stage manager, Frank Mason is the sound ef fects man, and Stanley Hanson and Robert MoKenzie are prompt ers . Aunt Cathie's Cat is a mystery comedy with the action taking place in an old, un used house, which seems to have some unusual inhabitants. Higher Admission The admission, 15 cents for grade school, 35 cents for high school, and 50 cents for adults, is higher this year be cause of the increased cost of obtaining an orchestra for the Jun ior Prom. S c e n e F o r F u n F e s t The American Legion, Eureka Post No. 74, is sponsoring a Carnival and Dance, November 16, at the Eureka commun ity Hall which will feature these attrac tions: fish pond, dart game, penny pitch, baseball throw, ring toss, bingo game, lunch counter and free hats. A Christmas tree typing contest will also take place. Valu able- and useful prizes will be given away at the games of skill and chance. One of the biggest events of the carnival is the Steer Raffle. Tickets for the raffle are being sold at dif ferent busixxess places in town. The tickets are $1 each. A queen is also to be elected. Each of the classes in high school have elected a queen for the carnival. The one receiving the most votes, wins a prize of $>10 and the title of queen. Re presenting the classes are:. . Freshmen Roberta Brignt Sophomores Maxine Elliott Juniors Dorothy Johnson Seniors Ruby Fortine Voting for the queen will be expressed by the purchase of script money which will be good for all carnival events. C o m e s T r u e When the senior class of 1945 gradu ated, they declared this statement in their will; \To the sophomores we leave our initiative and or iginality so that the class of \47\,.will al so have an annual.\ That sophomore class has risen to the pres ent rank of seniors, to be graduated in 1947* The will is go ing to come true. The senior class is now working on an annual which is to be bigger and better than the last annual of \ 4 5 . \ The annual is to con tinue with its name , The Lincoln Lion, as was the proceeding o n e . Senior students elect ed for the Annual Staff are Donald Hol comb, Editor and Juni or Chalcraft, Busin ess Manager. Marjorie McMullen was appointed assistant business manager with Virginia Roe being assigned the position of assistant Editor. Ken Payton was appointed Sports Edit or. The pronhecy, will, and history committees have not yet been ap pointed. The annuals will be sold at $1.50 per copy. Each class and organi zation will be charged $5 to have their pic ture put in the annual. Reserve Annual Now The annual staff has agreement slips for each person who wishes to obtain the annual, which will be distrib uted and collected next week. If people not in high school wish to reserve an an nual see one of the seniors or call at the office. —
