But before square cardboard hats go soaring into the air, there are a few things left to da, besides finals. The last weeks of school can be tiring and frustrating. For a senior, they can be nerve-racking and scary as a fresh from college gradu ate faces the “real world.” Fortunately, seniors can post-pone thoughts of job searching and working by partak ing in the senior activities. chicken, potato salad, rolls, chips, and soda. And the hits just keep on rolling into next weekend. On Friday, May 7 at 4:00 p.m. the senior class will be burying a time capsule at Founders Corner. Following the burying of the time capsule will be a senior reception that will be held from 4:30-5:30 p.m. This reception is for all seniors and their parents, as well as any faculty and staff who are interested in meeting the people that brought their students into this world. Appetizers and drinks will be served at the reception. Later on Friday, May 7 at 7 p.m., Jason DeShaw will be playing at The Brewhouse. This is not a strictly sen iors event, but is open to anyone who is interested. Harris said once again, “Many families attended this event last year and all had a great time.” On Saturday, May 8, a Baccalaureate Mass will be held at St. Helena Cathedral at 11 a.m. Tickets are required for guests to attend, so all sen iors should remember to pick up their tickets in the President’s Conference Room in O’ Connell Hall. These tickets can be picked up on May 5 or May 6 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. On Saturday, May 8 at 2 p.m. all graduating seniors and their families should meet in the P.E. Center for the big moment: Commencement. Following Softball Senior Dan Simonton busts a move during Weekend, if people lip sync in the Sodexho Dining Hall, are still up to it, there will be Midnight Golf for all seniors, faculty, and staff on Friday, April 30. Sean Kelly, a senior ele mentary education major, said, “I can’t wait to hit the links at midnight. It’s going to be a blast.” The midnight action will take place at Fox Ridge Golf Course off of Lake Helena Drive at 9:30 p.m. Price of admission is $5 for a glow- in-the-dark ball. On Saturday, May 1, there will be a Senior Class Party permanent marker so every one can sign each other’s shirts. For those of you who are still thinking, “Can there possibly be more?” The answer to that question is, yes. ** On Sunday, May 2 from 4:00 -5:30 p.m. there will be a B.B.Q at President Trebon’s house. According to Patrick Harris, everyone had a great time last year. The Big Cheese is hostin’ and every senior is invited, so come on down to 425 Gilbert Street and enjoy at Silver City. The party will start at 7:30 p.m. and trans portation will be provided from Carroll and will most likely be needed coming back. All seniors attending the party are asked to wear a plain white shirt and bring a WEDNESDAY, APRIL 28, 2004 VOLUME 87, NO. 7
