By Ann Goldes Staff Writer Elections for the Executive Board of the Associated Students of Carroll College took place Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005, and the results are in! Congratulations to our new Executive Board! The new ASCC President is Scout (Kelly) Murphy, the Vice President is Emily Porter, the Secretary is Aaron Baker and the Treasurer is Nick Leslie. Scout is a senior political sci ence and theology major from Emmett, Idaho. She has most recently held the position of Carroll College ASCC Vice President. Under this title she has served the Carroll community by representing Carroll students to the college faculty, staff, adminis tration, and the Helena communi ty. When asked why she thinks she will be a good representative to Carroll College, its students and Free Medical/Dental School Plus $1279.00 a month! I want to see students grow, as Carroll's mission does. I under stand the mission statement of the College, and especially support its endeavors toward social justice. I share much in common with Carroll students and I do think I know this institution, its desires, and its students well enough to represent it abroad.\ Emily Porter is a junior Environmental Studies major from Arlee, Mont. In high school she was Arlee High School's senior class president and is currently one of Carroll College's junior class Senators. When asked what values and characteristics she will bring to Carroll College ASCC student government Emily answered, \I am hard-working and enthusiastic when I work on proj ects, and I like a challenge. I am one of those people who does not like to hear that she cannot do something. I am more likely to go to it if someone tells me I can't! I am also always willing to listen and offer a hand if someone needs help with anything.\ Aaron Baker is a junior busi ness management major from Great Falls, Mont. He has had two years of senate experience, two years presidency and one year of secretary experience from his high school. He is also a current junior ASCC senator. Aaron says, \I will bring good work ethic. I will make sure that I do not stop until the job is done and that the students are satisfied with my product. I bring the great asset of a team player because I believe that unless one is surrounded by team players then nothing can be accomplished.\ Nick Leslie is a sophomore his tory, ethics and values major from Austin, Texas. He is the current president of the CCF (College Christian Fellowship), and an offi cer for People for Progress. When asked what about Carroll he most wants to change Nick answered, \There are a few minor things I would like to see changed at Carroll, facilities and student liv ing for the most part. Our class rooms are nearly a decade behind most colleges and we are running a very impractical system as far as laundry, security, and student access to facilities goes. With access to the budget I would be able to propose feasible, cost effective changes to both the stu dent government as well as the board of trustees to help remedy our deficiencies.\ . ..................
