C ampus Carroll Chat Saints Swing Dance Society Saints Swing Dance Society (SSDS) is a new club started in the spring by Angelo Malisani, a junior from Great Falls majoring in business administration, and Tony Rosales, a junior from great falls majoring in chemistry. SSDS was created due to a lack of swing dances on our campus. Saints Swing Dance Society aims to not only dance, but also to teach those unfamiliar with swing dancing. Members of the club are available to teach anyone who wants to learn the art of swing dancing. “The club makes a fun, easy-going atmosphere on campus for everyone who wants to dance,” founding member Angelo Malisani said. The club is currently searching for a good evening to meet and when to hold regular meetings. To get involved in the club, you can contact Angelo Malisani. Tony Rosales, or Cassy Slayton. Senior etiquette banquet Don't know a fork from a faux pas? Senior students are invited to attend the third annual Professional Etiquette Dinner sponsored by Career Services. Alumni Relations, and Sodexo to learn what it takes to make a great first impression and how to navigate through a formal dinner with style. The meal is preceded by a networking session in which participants get to practice juggling hors d'oeuvres and punch while greeting people and carrying on conversation. Networking tips will be given for this part of the program. During the meal, students learn the basics of proper dining from use of the napkin, silverware, and glassware to what to do at the conclusion of the meal. During the six- or seven-course meal, a professional etiquette trainer guides participants through the fine dining experience. The dinner is free to Carroll seniors who soon will be launching their professional careers. The dinner is paid for by corporate sponsors, who send two company represen tatives to the dinner; we try to seat students at tables with sponsors who may typically hire students of a particular major. This year’s dinner will be held on Thursday, October 25, from 6:00-8:00 pm. Seating for the dinner is limited, so interested senior students are encouraged to register early by sending name, phone contact, and academic major to careers@carroll. edu. Contact Career Services if you have any questions. Parents Weekend Parents weekend is coming!
