We even made friends with the man who owned the cafe near campus, and got a free napolitanas every morning. Which were the most decadent chocolate pastries I’ve ever tasted. Even though I was in Spain to “study.’’ there was so much fim to be had and so much to see. I walked around the old fort city o f Toledo where Queen Isabella freed the moors in 1492, and is the inspiration of the city La Mancha in Don Quixote. I stood where Christopher Columbus stood when he asked the queen to take three ships to India while in Granada, and saw a flamenco show in an original gypsy cave. I saw the palace by the sea, and surfed the waves in Santander. There was so much history to learn, and so many Horoscopes Madame Rosaline - The all Knowing ARIES (M A R C H 21- APRIL 19): Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Ura nus are all on your side; you will have an excellent week. Pluto however isn't on your side, But what do you care, Pluto isn't even a planet anymore. Let's all just point in its general direction and laugh. TAURUS (APRIL 20- MAY 20): Don't hold your breath, it's not g o ing to happen any time soon... Unless of course what you were waiting for is to read this, in which case holding your breath may have been appropriate. G E M IN I (MAY 21-J UNE 21): W h e n the chicken gets soft and browned add m ushroom and black pepper and cook for five minutes over a gentle heat. Chop garlic and m u shroom pieces while cooking so that they look like mince. Add to the chicken and cook for a further 10 minutes. Remove from heat, taste, and then phone for takeout. You never were much of a chef. LIBRA (SEPT. 23-OCT. 23): If y o u don't o w n a bike, get a bike. Jupiter saw you riding one the other day and mentioned that you looked utterly fantastic. And he knows; he's a big, big planet. SCORPIO (OCT. 24-NOV. 21): Mercury is rising, and powering up your arms. Today would be a great day to play with your Frisbee. You always have been one awesom e tosser. Gather some friends and show off those skills. SAGITTARIUS (NOV. 22-DEC. 21): With Mars, the planet of deception, dom inating your chart, it is quite certain that the next three things y o u are told will be lies. It is up to you if you include this sentence as one. It's too confusing for me to work it out. CAPRICORN (DEC. 22- JAN. 19): One of the planets is beaming down luck on you this week. Go buy a scratch ticket, and if you win we'll g o halves. Deal? CANCER (JUNE 22- u JULY 22): Your future this week is written in T O T -------- — - ....... - ..... t V 'V 's o n g lyrics so pay close * attention to the next song you hear. It will determine the outcom e of those tests loom ing on the horizon and the status o f your relationship...no big deal or anything. LEO (JULY 23-AUG.22): I only took my eyes off your chart for o n e minute, just to g o make a c u p of coffee. Venus has run off and hidden. I can't predict anything until V enus decides to return. Sorry about that, I shall attempt to entice it back in with som e lettuce later. VIRGO (AUG. 23- SEPT. 22): You know that secret your keeping from your best friends? S o do I...astrology's great isn't it? AQ U A R IUS (JAN. 20- FEB. 18): You always use the same mug, and sit in that same seat in class. W h y not make a change? Sit in your mug, and pour coffee all over your chair. People may give you funny looks, but at least this time you'll know why. PISCES (FEB. 19-MARCH 20): Saturn is revolving wildly through your chart indicating you are g o ing to have an absolutely catastrophic week. Do not d o anything risky like g o ing to a theme park, eating at the school cafeteria, crossing the road, looking at someone funny, or breathing. Just take the necessary breaths. One in five should cover it. Good luck. The Alhambra In Granada, Spain PHOTO COURTESY OF KIM WIGGS things to do. Needless to say, my time in Spain flew by. Before I knew it I was saying goodbye to the amazing friends I created countless memories with. Memories of Spain winning the Euro Cup. the mining strikes with burning cars and gunshots, the seven story discotecas, and the one euro tequila shot bars. But July 28 came around and my time in Europe was done. I would recommend studying abroad to anyone who still has time. If it doesn’t fit during the school year, take a summer trip like I did. Don’t let tins amazing pos sibility pass you by. Shannon Ackeret and Michelle Lewis, the directors o f the education abroad office, will help you set up the ideal study abroad experience. My advice: stop in and see what dreams they can help make come tme for you. Thursday, September 27, 2012 The Prospector 15
