Diplomas were presented to the seniors by Kenneth Thompson, chairn,an of the school board. Tighth p.rade stuclents also received diplomas. Music was provic ' ed by Kathy Lechner and Dianne, Christie, and Tim jirr.mer- son. Rev. George Hirose was the baccalaureate speaker when that program ~1as held on Sunday night, May 18. Featured speaker was James Longin, dean of admissions at the College of Great Falls. About one hunored people attended the roast beef din- ner, which was prepared by the junior mothers. Ed Heggem, junior class president, welcomed the sen- iors. The response was given by Bruce Udelhoven, presi- dent of the senior class. Invo~ation and benediction was presented by Father Bielefeld. The music was pro- Vided by the ChoraJaires frorr, Fergus County High School. Honored p.uests in addition to the seniors were the senior parents, and two third-generation families who were Winifred High School p-radua tes. They were: l:r. and ~ ' .rs. Othar Limpus, rrandparents of Rudy Stulc, a 1969 eraduate, and his parents, hr. and .Mrs. Anton Stulc; and f'a-s. Dorothy Lechner, f!randmoth er of Mike Lechner, who is graduating this year, and her son James Lechner. SENIOR ISSUE HOI\JOR STUDENTS CHOSEN Valedictorian of the class of 1 69 is i.lJancy Wick- ens, daughter of l',r. and 1-:rs. John t iickens,Suffolk. She is a charter member of the ,,Jinifred National Honor Society and the Bet- ty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow at WHS. Salutatorian of the 1 69 ~raduates is Teresa Thomp- son, daughter of 1 1 , r. and (rs. Kenneth Thompson. She is also a charter member of the National Hon- or Society and received the DAR Good Citizenship Award. KING AND OUEEr~ At the junior prom on }ay . 3, Nancy ltfickens was crowned queen by the prom king, Rudy Stulc.
