Returning this year as coaches are Don Mast and Dave Udelhoven. The team is fairly small this year, but they are ready for a tough ~a- son. Their first game is with Geraldine on Friday, September 2. * * * * * * * * * * * * --------·---- - ---------- · - · -- Winifre<l, ~IT 59489 SENIORS SELL ADS On Thursday, August 25, the Winifred high school Senior class went into Lewistown. Their mission: to earn money by selling advertisements to the businesses of Lewistown. They needed the money to help ~ay for the product- ion of the 1983-84 year annual. Their class spon- sor, Mrs. Linda Tyl e r, split the 14 students into groups of two •• Each was given a section of Lewis- town. The students went to each business and sold ads. They stopped for 11.mch at Li ttJ.e Big Man and after lunch tb.ey went back to finish their sec- tions. At 2:30, students had their sections, Lewistown for after the finished they left Winifred. They Seniors estimate they made over $800.00. They still have a long way to go before they rec> .ch their goal. We wish them luck. September 2, 1983 TR IP TO EURO PE In July, Miss Jacobson, along with her aunt from Oregon, flew to London to tour variows parts of Eu- rope. On their 19-day tour, they traveled through Bel- gii.nn, Netherlands, Ger- lI'any, Austria, ·· I.taJ.y, Switzerland, and France. They then spent 3 days looking at the sights in London. They took another tour through England,Ire- land, Scotland, a.nd Wales. They returned back to the u.s. on August 14. She told us she had a wonder- ful trip. * * * * * * * * * * * * * FFA TRIP Wednesday, September 14, the Winifred FFA Chapter will send its officers to attend the District Leadership Con- ference in Hobson. The purpose of this conference is to enhance t..~e knowledge of each officer as to the duties of his or her respective officers. The conference is being sponsored by the State Officer Team in conjunction with the Hob- son Chapter officers. SCHOOL IHPROVEMEl<l'S The Winifred school ad- ministrativn has made many improvements in the scho- ol this year. They have built a darkroou1 in the a- rea above the multi-pur- pose room. They have al- so built new stairs that lead to the darkroom. In addition, storage areas have been built underneath the sta:!.rs. Another improvement that has been made is the carpeting of the area a- round the back entrance o f the school and in h a lf of Mrs. Roger's room.
