Freshmen had to report co school early that morning to get dress- ed in their specially- made costumes. The boys had to wear bra's, swimming suits, an! other f un things. The girls were dressed in long underwear, jocks, on- ions, and garlic. The girls wore their hair in ponytails. The Freshmen wore signs reading, \We Love the Sophomores.\ The Sophomores dyed the Fresh- men's teeth and food. Lacer, they h ad to do calistenics in the class- rooms while Hary K. sang, \Itsy Bitsy Spider\. The Freshmen had to run up to the \W\ to paint it. Be- fo re they could pai11t it, they had to haul t~ rocks from the bottom of the h il l. After the \W\ was painted, the FreshmC!n hop- ped into the creek fto wash off the paint. The Sophomores had pop wait- ing for them at t he school. The Freshmen said that initiation wn s fun, but that it was easier than r.hey expected. They would rather not comment or r ev eal infor- mation about n e xt year's initiation. * * * * * * * * * * * * * ~ OCT 8 Winifred, HT 59489 On Monday, Sept. 26, several representatives from the Office of Public Instruction arrived at Winifred School to inspect and rate our school. They inspected everything from the bathrooms to the kit- chen. They checked our teach- ers credentials to make sure they are qualified to teach their subjects and looked at the teacher' s yearly lesson plans. And, we passed our :in- spection with flyin g co- lors. RODEO On September 11 3nd 1 2, the Winifred J ayce\'s !i .:,lJ J a ckpot team-ropin g and wild co w milking e v , · \ .i · s .
