What is this?
Optical character recognition (OCR) is an automated process that converts a digital image containing numbers and letters into computer-readable numbers and letters. The search engine used on this web site searches OCR-generated text for the word or phrase you are looking for. Please note that OCR is not 100 percent accurate. If the original image is blurry, has extraneous marks, or contains ornate font styles or very small text, the OCR process will produce nonsense characters, extraneous spaces, and other errors, such as those you may see on this page. In addition, the OCR process cannot interpret images and may ignore them or render them as strings of nonsense characters. Despite these drawbacks, OCR remains a powerful tool for making newspaper pages accessible by searching.

The Retort THE VOICE OF MONTANA STATE UNIVERSITY BILLINGS March 11th, 2014 Election Issue Spring Elections March 18-19th Daniel Barnhart B ased on my years of experience within student government, I know what it takes to work with students, fac- ulty, and administrators on controversial topics. I will work closely with ad- ministrators and keep my fellow students informed on all issues within our university, our state, and the legislature. I want to build a better community on our campus which will help build a better com- munity in our town. Be- cause this is our school! Together we can bridge any gaps between admin- istration and students. Sonja Choriki I am passionate about student government and I want to improve our University. I will bridge the gap between different clubs and orga- nizations. The better we can all work together, the more we can accomplish within our school and our community. I will strive for teamwork, service work, and public rela- tions. Because this is our school! Together we can bridge any gaps between students and student or- ganizations. Alex Furois W ith experience as both a sena- tor and the busi- ness manager for ASM- SUB, I believe I have the knowledge to propel sen- ate further and aid our university's growth. My plan is to keep moving forward into the commu- nity but to also focus on re-connecting with the students and their clubs and organizations. I want senate to have a closer relationship with the stu- dent body so that we can identify the issues that may occur and quickly re- solve them. Jamie Slaugh I have served on Senate as a senator, Sustain- ability Coordinator and Student Resolution Of- ficer. Along, with Alex we have filled every po- sition on Senate. There- fore, the next step in our progression is to repre- sent the students as Pres- ident and Vice President. Senate has distanced it- self from the students and we need to close that gap! We should listen to student concerns and an environment that they can be proud of, with ex- citing events. I would like to see our school contin- ue with community in- volvement. We may be a small school but together we can accomplish great things!
