FACULTY HONOR SENIORS AT DINNER IN NORTHERN TEA ROOM The annual faculty-senior dinner, one of the leading events of the commencement season, was held Thursday, June 2, at the Northern Tearoom, Dr. McMullen presiding. Mrs. W. W. Gail sang \A Song of Thanksgiving\ accompanied by Miss Emily Clark. 'Professor N. C. Abbot, class sponsor, then present- ed the graduates. Ben Nutt gave the response for the seniors. Miss Mary Barden of the music department played a piano solo, \Sparks\ by 'noszkowski. Two songs, \The Hills o fHome\ by For and \Because\ by d'Hardelat, were sung by Mrs. W. W. Gail. The ad- dress to the class was given by Mr. W. W. Gail. The color scheme carried out in the table appointments was pink and green. There were green bowls of pink pyrethum and bridal wreath and pink tapers in green glass hold- ers. The place cards, made in the art department, showed a graduate standing against a background of daisies, representing a church win- dow. FRESHMEN ENTERTAIN SENIORS AND. FRIENDS AT PROM The annual Junior Prom was held at the Airdome Friday evening, May 27, with about 350 in attend- ance. At ten o'clock the grand march was led by James O'Connor, president of the first year class, and Phyllis Johnson. At this time it was discovered that there were more men than girls. What a lucky break! Beautiful corsages of white sweet peas and pink rose- buds were given to all of the ladies and roses to the men. Special en- tertainment was furnished by Les Hazelton, who did several tap dances and performed acrobatic feats. The music, varying from old favorites to the latest songs, was furnished by Nibs Hartman's orches- tra. Mr. Miller of the Commercial Club Cafeteria served a refreshing punch throughout the evening. Horace McBride, president of the first year class, assumed a great deal of responsibility in preparing for the occasion. Howard Walters and Margaret Vanek assisted him. Margaret Baker took charge of the (Continued on Page 3) SENIORS TO PRESENT MR. PIM PASSES BY THURSDAY NIGHT On Thursday, June 9, in the High School auditorium, the senior class will present \Mr. Pim Passes By,\ a three-act comedy by A. A. Milne. The cast will be as follows: George Mardin Horace McBride Olivia, his wife Dorothy Harris Dinah, his niece Cary Alice Sanderson Lady Mardin, his aunt Vivian Oehlerking Brian Strange, an artist George Sanderson Anne, a maid Helen Yeager Mr. Carraway Pim Dean Aldrich George Mardin is a very selfish English gentleman with absolutely no sense of humor, while his wife, Olivia, has a well-developed sense of humor and knows exactly how to manage him. Lady Mardin, his aunt, is a stately lady, sixty-five and proud of it. Brian Strange, the young artist, believes that clouds are triangular and cows are blue. Dinah is very miich in love with Brian, but her uncle feels she is too young to marry. Mr. 'Pim, kindly wistful and gentle, a mere passer- by, drifts into their lives, and be- cause of his inability to remember names, makes a terrible mix-up of their family affairs. This play will make you roar with laughter and hold you in suspense until the, last curtain falls. SENIOR SERMON AT CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH Sunday, June 5, at 11 a. m., the Reverend George S. Sloan will give the senior sermon at the Congre- gational Church. The music will be furnished by the Pilgrim Choral Club of that church. The members of the class and the faculty will meet at the Ad building at 10:20. DR. AND MRS. McMULLEN ENTERTAIN SENIORS On Tuesday, June 7, at 9 p. m. Dr. and Mrs. McMullen will enter- tain the members of the faculty and the June and August graduates at the Normal School gymnasium. Dr. and Mrs. McMullen will be assisted by the faculty wives and by a group of junior girls who will serve punch.'Miss Stevenson and Mrs. Katherine Yohnson will sing during the evening, and music for dancing will be furnished by the Tavern orchestra. How about having your annual ready for signatures at this last Luncheon? Barber—Wet or dry? Mr. Hawkes•Comb my hair and never mind my politics. The spring festival to be given in Pioneer Park at 6:30 p. in. on Tuesday evening will represent a garden party given by George and Martha Washington on the lawn at Mount Vernon. The host and hostess, represented by Josephine Strawn and Barbara Biever, and their twenty-four guests will be clad in colonial costumes and will take part in a minuet. Other dances and drills will be pre- sented by members of various classes in physical education. The public is invited to attend this program which is the culmina- tion of the year's work in the phys- ical education department under the supervision of Miss Marjorie Stevenson. Program I. Ill BILLINGS, MONTANA, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 8 fq3 2- NO. 6 INTEREST CENTERS ON COMMENCEMENT GRADUATION EXER- CISES AT BABCOCK ON FRIDAY In the Babcock Theatre at 11 a. in. on Friday, June 10, 58 seniors will be graduated. Mr. Wm. Johns- ton, member of the State Board of Education, will present the diplo- mas. Dr. William 0. Thompson, presi- dent emeritus of Ohio State Uni- versity at Columbus, will make the address to the graduates. Dr. Thompson held the position as president of Ohio University for 26 years, 1899-1925. According to \Who's Who In America\ Dr. Thompson was well known as a pastor, missionary and professor before he took up his work at Co- lumbus. It is a privilege to have with us a man of such wide experi- ience. Awards Will Be Given The Glee Club will sing two num- bers. Awards for work of special merit in the various departments of the school and in extra-curricu- lar activities will be presented by Dr. McMullen. The athletic awards of letters and sweaters are given by the Student Council. The gen- erosity of prominent citizens, or- ganizations, and faculty members has made possible a number of other prizes. Last June $240 in gold was awarded besides several prizes of merchandise. Alumni Luncheon At Tea Room Following the graduation exer- cises, the Alumni Luncheon will be held at twelve fifteen o'clock at Miss Woods' Tea Room. The honor guests on this occasion will be the graduating seniors, who will be ini- tiated into the alumni organization at this time. SENIORS SPONSOR LAST SCHOOL LUNCHEON On Wednesday, June 8, the sen- ior class will sponsor a luncheon in the gymnasium. The hall will be decorated in red and white, the senior colors. Complete arrangements cannot be announced as yet, but there will be a class will and a prophecy; also it is understood that a class song will be sung. Mr. Abbott, the class sponsor, will give some last admo- nitions, and Jim O'Connor, presi- dent of the class, has consented to make an honest-to-goodness speech. Evelyn Raymond will give a read- ing, and there will be music by the orchestra and a piano solo by Miss Barden. The Rimrock Annual wilt be distributed at the luncheon.
