Virginia Lofgren, June '34, is teaching the first three grades and music in all grades in the Huntley Project Schools. Juanita Davis, June '34, one of the editors of the Rimrock Echo, and editor of the Rimrock Annual 1934, is teaching third and fourth grades at Kalispell. Helen Lewis, June '34, is teach- ing primary grades at Ennis, Mon- tana. Burnadette Brown is teaching a rural school twelve miles from Sid- ney. David Duncan, June '33, is carry- ing the leading role of Lieutenant Colonel George Custer in the play, \More Died Than Men.\ This is the fall quarter major production at the - Montana State University. Pauline Kleinhesselink won a scholarship in voice at the Juillard School in New York City. Her voice is a coloratura soprano. Clarice Hoffman has a music po- sition in the Forsyth schools. Irene Gille is teaching music in the grades in Lodge Grass. Ann Bolla is teaching at Calvert, Montana. While at Fort Peck, Mr. Abbott was entertained by Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Wengler. Mrs. Wengler, who was La Verne Herman before her marriage, is a graduate of Eastern Montana Normal School. Carey Alice Sanderson, June '33, is teaching the first and second grades in Laurel this year. Maxine Hitch, August '35, and Katherine Swanbro, June '34, were in Billings Saturday. Miss Hitch teaches upper grades and Miss Swanbro the primary grade in Mar- tinsdale. George Sanderson is principal of the Rimrock School on the Poly- technic Drive. This is his first year there. — G RADS HOLD OFFICES Virginia Aagard, Mr. Campbell, and May Harper, all graduates of E. M. N. S., were elected president, vice-president, and secretary-treas- urer respectively of the Midland Empire Rural Teachers Association at a meeting of the organization on September 28, 1935. According to a recent report made by the Colorado State Teach- er's College at Greeley, college edu- cation is provided in Montana at a cost per student that is $56.78 less than the average cost in the eleven western states. In a comparison with educational institutions of other regions, Mon- tana costs were $160.45 less per student than in the central states and $154.91 less than in the eastern states. Henrietta Lammers, former stud- ent at E. M. N. S., was married in Jackson, Wyoming in July to George Pirrie of Hedgesville. Mr. Pirrie owns a large sheep ranch. Miss Lammers taught one year at Bran- denburg, Montana. Lorine Northy, also a former stud- ent, and Alfred Thiel of Ryegate were married in Billings last June. Mr. Thiel works in the court house in Ryegate and also owns a farm, where they are living now. Noel Rigby and Mary Fitzgerald, graduates of class of '34, were unit- ed in marriage shortly after school began this fall. Both are teaching in Broadview. Ruby Pinnick, a former student, was married to John Jansma of Billings during the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Jansma live near Billings, where Mr. Jansma is a 4-H Club leader. R. Foote, and Miss Mildred Rodeberg were married in ti Roundup. Both were members of the March '30 class. The ypung people went at once to Yellowstone Park, where Leon was assistant transportation man- ager at Calyon, aad Mildred worked in a shop at the Canyon Hotel. They are now at home at Denton, where Leon is high school coach.
