Coral Powell To Be IFYE Delegate Coral Powell Coral Powell has been selected by the National 4-H Club Founda tion to be a 1963 International Farm Youth Exchange delegate. Miss Powell, a junior from Cardwell, has not yet been no tified where she will be sent; she hopes that it will be some place in Europe. She has studied German; therefore she would pre fer going somewhere that she can make use of that language. Coral expects to leave on her assignment early next summer for a stay that may last as long as six months. During that' time she will live with farm families who, with the help of many com munity groups, will show her their way of life. Meanwhile she will give them an insight of the United States and it's people. The presentation of football awards was made by Dr. Short to the athletes who earned them during the 1962 football season. Those who received letters were Larry Baldwin, Jim Bennetts, George Bentley, Bob Burk, Rick Cadieux, Fred Cobell, Dale Combs, Mick Delaney, Pat Del- ger, Butch Donovan, Dick Doyle, Jerry Fitzsimmons, Jack Gilles pie, Tom Heisler, Jerry Kirsch- (Continued on Page 4) December 15th Date Set For Christmas Ball The sophomore class will spon sor Western’s annual Christmas Ball set for Dec. 15 in the SUB. Class president Jim Walsh re ported that' the theme would be “Christmas Fantasy” and decorat ing will begin soon. As yet no band or musical group has been hired for the gala affair. If you haven’t already done so, make plans now to attend one of the year’s brightest evenings of entertainment. NOTICE The annual Blood Drawing will take place some time in January. Any person who is 18 or under must have his par ents signature on the proper form before he can give. If you are under age and plan on giving blood this time, please contact any of the Stu dent Council members for forms. Last night, the college student's and townspeople were treated to the last performance of Tad Mo sel’s Pulitzer Prize winning play, “All the Way Home” which was presented by the WMC Gargoyles under the direction of Mr. Ry- burn. The scene of the play is the Fol- let home in Knoxville, Tennes see, the time, 1915. It is the story of how the death of a young hus band and father affects the rest of his family. But it is the story of the living process— and its lesson is that death is not an end but a beginning of life. Life con tinues, through torment and trial and death and man’s despair— and that that is the true immor tality. Marcia Giem And Patsy Paige Place In Wool Contest Marcia Giem, freshman from Twin Bridges, fashioned and mod eled a black double-knit suit to win top sewing honors in the senior division of the “Make It Yourself With Wool” district con test sponsored by the Woolgrow- ers. Patsy Paige, a junior from Twin Bridges, fashioned and modeled (Continued on Page 3) Index File On Montana Subjects To Be Available The WMC Social Science De partment announced that it is making available its card-index file on Montana subjects to any one seeking a topic for term pap ers, oral reports, or other pur poses. The index, which has been in preparation for five years, is largely the work of three stu dents: Gary Rafter, Larry Adams, and Laurie Nelson. It contains several hundred listings on ghost towns, pioneers, early ranches, churches, business firms, and other Montana subjects. This index is based on various period icals concerning Montana such as the Sunday Great Falls Tribune, Montana Treasure, Out West and others. If you are interested in using this file, it is kept in Room 303, where it' may be consulted by anyone. Mrs. Alice Kennedy and John Fadness did a superb job in play ing the lead roles of Mary and Jay Follet. Doing an equallj' great' job in his first amateur performance was Andy Juergens as Rufus Follet.
