What is this?
Optical character recognition (OCR) is an automated process that converts a digital image containing numbers and letters into computer-readable numbers and letters. The search engine used on this web site searches OCR-generated text for the word or phrase you are looking for. Please note that OCR is not 100 percent accurate. If the original image is blurry, has extraneous marks, or contains ornate font styles or very small text, the OCR process will produce nonsense characters, extraneous spaces, and other errors, such as those you may see on this page. In addition, the OCR process cannot interpret images and may ignore them or render them as strings of nonsense characters. Despite these drawbacks, OCR remains a powerful tool for making newspaper pages accessible by searching.

The Wescolite Student Newspaper Sports October 6, 2004 Lady Bulldogs Ready For Any Challenge By Katie Bacon The Lady Bulldogs Volleyball team is back and ready to rally after a chal lenging season in 2003. “W e’re pretty young this year,” says Coach Jenny Peterson, “but our juniors and sopho mores have a lot of playing experi ence. Our freshman are very athletic and fitting in very well. The improve ments I see each week are exciting.” A good part of that experience comes in the form of the two cap tains, Katherine Sunwell and Lindsey Scott. Both ladies have been an im portant part in the success o f the Lady Bulldogs. They have also been handed several honors for their time on and off the court. Both have made the Frontier Conference Academic All- Conference teams and Sunwell was named Freshman of the Year for her performance on the court in 2002. The season ended with a heart breaking loss to MSU-Northem in the first round o f the league playoffs, leav ing them a 16-16 overall season record. Hopes are high for this season’s young team. As has been typical of Coach Peterson’s teams, this is close- knit group. They recently raised more than $ 1000 to have their team poster printed.
