He formerly lived in the Basin and is so well pleased with the country that he may decide to again make this his permanent home. Hugh Neal of Marshall, Minn., who has been visiting brie old friend G. H. Thurston., left here on Friday to look up some land in this county, 90 as to report to hits sons who are leoutemplating locating out here. Mr. Neal is an old settler at Marshall, co) ling there before the town was es- tablished meny years ago. Mr. Thureton was also a resident of that city bafore conerg, out here. They are both Whittlers and should make a success of the business in Moore, as this, city has been without a ietudio fator some time. Deputy Sheriff Phil McGowan was In Moore Sunday, being on his way to the county seat an official trip to Geyser and other tow.ns on the line of the Great Northern. Mrs. Combs, of Geneva, Neb., ar- rived in the city Monday for a two months' visit with her daughter, Mrs. ti. E. Strong, and son Clark Combs. She will also spend some time with tier son Clyde, at Hilger. H. Samuell re- turned this afternoon from an ex- tentled visit with friends and rela- tives at their ola home in Eaton, Illinois. They also visited other eastern points before eeterning. Recent heavy _raime hrfare assured bumper_ yields of Turkey Re4 winter wheat that is being grown extensive- ly in the Basin. Most of the winter wheat is in - the -shoot, and the timely arrival of the additional mois- tere insures an average production of art least thirty bushels to the wore. Many fields of Turkey Red are conservatively estimated to average from thirty-five to fifty bushels an acre. Spring crops are also in splen- did condition, and heavy yields will be' secured from the vast area. Al- falfa fields are also doing well. Rem. Percy T. Carnes, Miss Flor- ence Learnsons , and Harley McFer- earn and Ernest Robinson have re- turned from Missoula where they at -- tended the Thirty-third annual con vention of the Montana Christian As- sociation. 'This was unaolmouply con sidered the greatest convenalcui ever held in the history of the association. Previous to the close of the meeting the committee on time and place for the 1914 state core vention made its report. recommend- ing Moore as the place for the next meeting. This report was opposed by al large delegation from Kalispell who 'wanted the next convention in the Flathead Valley .
