Art. has been on duty but one month, whereas six months are usually necessary to satisfy the department as to a man’s efficiency, The appoint ment is well merited and is a com pliment highly appreciated. From some unknown cause fire started in hay near the bam tent, About 15 tons of hay were consumed and three sections erf the bam wept up in smoke. Major W. Snath, of Butte, was looking over the Ruby ranch dar ing the week and made such an en ticing offer to Manager Harry Hop kins as to induce that gentleman to remain with the Ruby company, instead of buying a ranch far him self.
