Miss Janet Pollard’ who has been teaching in the Hidden Water, district, is visiting her father, Re.v. S. W . Pollard, for a few days. She will spend the summer vacation on their Dawson county farm, near Sand Springs. Judge J. A. Williams, a delegate to the Progressive Republican national convention, will leave this week for Chicago,- where the big gathering-con- venes on June 7. Thomas Westrope of Willard, ex pects to go back to Iowa soon to at tend a sale of pure bred shorthorns. He intends shipping a carload out here. At present he has a nice herd of 20 head of these fine dual purpose cows. Mr. . ’Westrope left a year’s subscription at the Times office. M. A*Shreve of Willard has a hun dred acres of winter wheat,, that is looking fine. Even on sod -breaking there is no evidence of winter killed wheat, according to Mr. Shreve. He and Mrs. Shreve and son were in Ba ker Friday to meet his brother, B. F. Shreve .and wife of Sheridan, Wyo., who will make them a short visit.
