Baker Homecraft Club elected offi- cers and they are as follows: president Shirley Barth, vice president Sharon Nordahl, secretary -treasurer Sarah Schueler, and sunshine lady Billie Jo Losing. 40 YEARS AGO Thursday, April 24, 1975-- A two car head-on collision took the lives of two children Apr. 22 when a 1973 GMC pickup driven by John Soy - land, 31, of Colstrip and a 1965 Dodge car driven by Shane Waples, 17, a student in Plevna working at the Fred Berzel ranch met on the crest of a hill nine miles south of the six mile turn-off of Highway 12. Riding with Waples were Steven Berzel, 7 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Berzel, and Brenda Askin, 8 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy \Chunky\ Askin. Both children were killed in- stantly, Waples and Soyland were taken to the Holy Rosary Hospital for treatment. . . Sandy Kinsey, nurse in charge of the newly organized Plevna Health Center, is shown visit- ing with Mrs. Tom Judge, rep- resenting the Governor, at the open house last week. Besides Mrs. Kinsey.
