Erik KrIkorlan stands near the center in the back Connect to Citizenship May h. krik Krikorian spoke to Plev na students in grades I - II about his many years of service in the Navy. lie traveled all over the world during over 30 years ot duty. Erik explained to the students what it means to he a veteran and how they can respect and thank those who fought for their freedom. Ile showed his shadowbox with medals, pills. and a flag. After his message. he an- swered numerous questions from the curious students. Students were then invited to create cards for veterans and soldiers. Materials for the cards were paid for by Nicole Allerdings received from a community service grant. She organized this event as her last project paid for by the grant she received from an or- ganization called genera- ionOn. The students enjoyed learn- ing about military service and being able to show their grat- itude by crafting cards for service men and women. Erik points to the flag in his shadowbox. The menu consisted of bacon cheese- burgers, spaghetti, and meat- ball subs for main courses for row Cole Edgell, Kalvin Fowler, and Sean Shelhamer. They also had fries as a side dish and chocolate cake for dessert.
