Erik explained to the students what it means to he a veteran and how they can respect and thank those who fought for their freedom. Ile showed his shadowbox with medals, pills. and a flag. After his message. he an- swered numerous questions from the curious students. Students were then invited to create cards for veterans and soldiers. Materials for the cards were paid for by Nicole Allerdings received from a community service grant. She organized this event as her last project paid for by the grant she received from an or- ganization called genera- ionOn.
