Tbe bullet has been removed from his leg, but it is fonred, however,- that when be has re covered it will be found that tbe knee is stiff, and if such is tbe case ho will al ways be lame. Deputy Sheriff Charles F. Moborly came over from Shelby.with two prison ers—John Skippington and James Ivtng —who were bound over to the district court by Justico William Dawes, of Mn- rios township, on the charge of burglary. Witbont doubt tbe names givon by tho prisoners are assumed and the authori ties are of the opinion that an important capture has been made. Tho men have tbe appearance of dosperato criminals and have probably beon' ruu out of the larger cities by tho police—probably Butte—where sevoral holdups and bur glaries have been reported of luto. Martin A. Monson, ot Farmington, was severely iDjnred in a runaway whilo go ing from Chotoan to bis home last even ing. A short time after be loft tbo lane leadivg out of town lie dropped one of tbe lines and in reaching ovor tbo dash board after it tlio horses gave n jump, jerking Munson out of tbo wngon. The team ran away but wore caught soon after by a party coming to town, who brought in word of the nccident. Dr. Brooks and others went ont and brought tho injured man to the Cboteau House whero it was discovered that ho bad snf fered a dislocation_of tbo bip and wns otherwise bruised lip. Ho will probably be laid up some timo. Deputy United States Marshal Wull has been in the northern part - of tbe county this week summoning witnesses in the case of tbe United States ys. Willis Nichols, who will be tried at , the next term of tbe United States court at Helena on a charge of selling whisky to Indians. This case was tried once before and re sulted in a mistrial, tbo jury failing to agree upoD a verdict. Jesso Morgan, the complaining witness, is not an Indian or a ward of tbe government us the com plaint alleges, but is a son of a citizen of the United States and consequently a citizen/ liiinself..
