From some unknowu cause a prairie fire was started last Monday about 8 miles southwest of Choteau, and three miles north of the Floworree horse ranch. Prompt action on the part o f neighbors and some citizens of Cho teau, who saw the smoJ;e of the fire, resulted in its being extinguished be fore any great damage was done, al though a strip about a mile wide and fivo miles loDg was completely de stroyed.
