A g siuat Ih «5 Aniindincut to tlie Constitution relating to County Commissioners. -------- ------------------------ j CONSTITUTIONAL AM ENDM ENT An Act Providing for the Submission to the Qualified Eleotors of the State of Montana of an Amendment to Section d of Article XVI. of tho Constitution, Re lating to County Commissioners. Be it Enacted by tho Legislative Assem bly of the state of Montana: Section 1. Thoro shall bo submitted to the qualified electors of the State of Mon tana at the next general election to be held in said state, the following amend ment to Section d, of Article X V I of the constitution, relating to county com missioners. That Section d of Articlo X V I of the constitution of the State of Montana, bo amended so as to read as follows: “Section d. Iu each county there shall be elected three conn ty commissioners whose term.of office shall be six years; provided, tbat the term of office of those elected on November 6th, 1900, Bhall expire on the first Monday in January ,1907; provided further, that at tho general election to be held in November, 1902,(in counties where commissioners are to be elected that yenr) three commissioners shall be olected whose terms shall expire on the first Mon day in January, 1907; provided further, that at the general election to be held in November, 190G, one commissioner shall be elected for a term of two years, one commissioner shall be elected for a term of four years, and one commissioner shall be elected for a term of six yoars, whose' term of office shall commence on the said first Monday of January, 1907; and pro vided further, that at each general elec tion thereafter commencing with the general election to be held in November, 1908, one commissioner shall be eleoted for a term of six yeare.
