What is this?
Optical character recognition (OCR) is an automated process that converts a digital image containing numbers and letters into computer-readable numbers and letters. The search engine used on this web site searches OCR-generated text for the word or phrase you are looking for. Please note that OCR is not 100 percent accurate. If the original image is blurry, has extraneous marks, or contains ornate font styles or very small text, the OCR process will produce nonsense characters, extraneous spaces, and other errors, such as those you may see on this page. In addition, the OCR process cannot interpret images and may ignore them or render them as strings of nonsense characters. Despite these drawbacks, OCR remains a powerful tool for making newspaper pages accessible by searching.

Helena, Nov. 5.—The democratic state committee concede the state to the republicans. The republican committee claim that Holloway’s majority will be over 8,000, and that Dixon’s will bo about 4,000. The legislature is probably republican. Holloway carries Lewis and Clarko county by about 700 and Dixon will have about 500 in the county. Helena, Nov. 4.—It. is estimated that Dixon, republican, for congress, will carry the slate by 4,000; Hollo way, associate justice, republican, by 8,000. Legislature slightly repub lican. Butte, Nov. 4.—Reports received up to midnight gave the state to the republicans almost beyond a doubt, although defeat has not yot beon conceded by the democrats. Over 25 precincts have beon heard from, in cluding the largest'in Montana. For associate justice of the supreme court, W. L. Holloway, republican, has 9,567; Jere Leslie, democrat * 7,847. Helena, Nov. 5.—It was lato to night before reliable returns had been received from all couhlro^on legislative results. The republican majority in the house is very- gratify ing—thev having a majority of five oyer both the. democrats and the laborites. Helena, Nov. 4.—Lewis,. & Clarke county gives an overwhelming ma jority to republican state candidates, but with many outlying precincts to hear from the result on the county ticket is uncertain, with indications favoring the olectioa of most if not all of the republican nominees. Holloway’s majority over Leslio is the sensation of tho vote, as so far revealed, the result being more than two to one in favor of the republican candidate for associate judge. -New Y o rk Is Republican. Washington, Nov.—Although the returns from doubtful congressional districts aro slow m arriving, the indi cations at midnight «oro that tho re publicans could control (honext house of representatives by a nairo-v margin.
