Cooper, a well known pioneer in this portion of Mon tana and long engaged in the sheep business in Teton county, is con fined at the county jail pendingan inquiry into his sanity. Mr. Coo per was brought from San Diego yesterday by an attendant in order that his case might be handled in the Montana courts where he had retained his legal residence. He was accompanied by a man who had been attending him for some time as a private nurse. Mr. Cooper shows no disposi tion to violence but the mental un balance has been manifested pracJ tically wholly in his childish ten dencies and a sort of loss of mem ory, according to one ’familiar with the case. He is detaineo fit the jail not because of any fear that he might do violence but be cause it is believed to be the best way to care for him pending the jndicial inquiry which will be in stituted very soon in the district court when it is practically certain he will be committed to the state hospital for the insane at Warm Springs.—Great Falls Tribune Civil Cases The following civil cases have been filed in the office of the-clerk of the district court since our last report: Boorman Mercantile Company, a corporation, vs Claude Brown, Josie Brown and Libby Lumber Company, suit on note.
