Board appointed the following nam ed persons as trustees of the Teton county free high school for the terms beginning April 19, 1914; H. A. Pres cott, for the term of 2 years ending on the third Saturday of April, 1916; H. L. Halladay and W. D. Jones for the term of 3 years ending on the third Saturday of April, 1917. Official bond of said trustees was fixed in the sum of $500.00 each. Ordered, that a special meeting of this board be held at its office on Saturday, Mar. 7, 1914, continuing a second day if necessary, for the pur pose of transacting any necessary road and bridge business and other business remaining unfinished at thi8 regular meeting. Board audited claims against the county and ordered warrants in pay ment of those allowed, in which bus iness the whole of the morning ses sion was taken up. Adjourned to 2 p. m. All members present The law requiring that three mem bers of the hoard of trustees of the county free high school must reside within the limits of the town of Cho teau, board rescinded the appointment 1 of H. A. Prescott as such trustee .made March 2, 1914, and appointed JG. M. Coffey as such trustee for the term of 2 years beginning April 19, 1914, and ending on the third Satur- ! day of April, 1916. j Board demoted the remainder of the afternoon to auditing claims a- gainst the county. Under tlie provisions of section 1344 of the revised codes of Mon- ana, the board levied a special road tax of $2.00 on every man over the age of 21 years, and under the age of 50 years, residing in the couny, except persons residing within tlie limits of incorporated cities or towns. Under the provisions of section 2962 of tlie revised codes of Montana, the board levied a poll tax of $2.00 on e\ery male inhabitant of the coun ty over 21 years and under 60 years of age, except paupers, insane per sons and Indians, not taxed. Petition was presented for a new' road in township 23 north, range 1 west to be known as Greenwalt road, and board appointed viewers thereon. Board then took action on road viewers’ reports, as follows: Bailey-Blackleaf Road Report of viewers for said road, part of which was orderd opened Oct. 14, 1913, was taken up, view'ers hav ing recommended extension of road, as follows; Beginning at northeast corner section 19, township 25 north, range 5 west; thence west about 1% miles, and swerving south of section line to avoid hill, to join Choteau- Biackleaf road. Report approved and Webber-Healey Co. awarded $150. as ih full for all damages and fenc ing, to be paid on filing of right of way deed, and said extension was declared a public highway and order ed opened, surveyed and platted. Choteau-Suiste Road.* Report recommending that road bee- gin at southeast corner section 35, township 26 north, range 5 west; thence north (bn sectioin line 5% miles; thence west % mile; thence about % mile to join Porter road near center of section 35, township 27 north, range 5 west. Report ap proved and damages and benefits de clared as equal, except in the case of Cascade-Teton Farm Lands Co., for which road supervisor shall fence both sides of the road wherever same cuts through its lands, and also move and re-adjust any fences necessary, and there being no non-consenting owners, road as viewed was declared a public highway, and ordered open ed, surveyed and platted. Bannister North Road. Report recommending that road be gin at northeast corner section 4, township 33 north, range 5 west; thence due south on section line 3 miles to southeast corner section 16, same township; thence south 500 or 600 feet across the Great Northern Railway right of way to connect with Cut Bank-Shelby road. Report ap proved and damages and benefits de clared as equal, and there being no non-consenting land owners, road as viewed was declared a public high way, and ordered opened, surveyed and platted. Choteau-Nordhagen Road. Report recommending road begin at southeast corner section 3, township 23 north, range 3 west; thence west on section line about 7 miles to Great Northern railway; thence following on east side of railway to an estab lished crossing on Great'-Northern, and Milwaukee railways,' near south line of northeast quarter northeast quarter section 5, township' 23 north, range 4 west Road 'to' cross both railways at this point and follow pre sent traveled road on south side of Teton river to junction with ClioteaU- Sun river road at about southeast corner northeast quarter n,orthe)ast quarter section 6, township 23 north, range 4 west. Stephens-Augusta Road. Report recommending that road be gin at a point on Great Falls road at about southeast corner southwest quarter southwest quarter section 16, tdwnship 23 north, range 4 west; thence west about 2% miles following section line as closely as practicable; thence southwest to county road. Report aproved and damages and be nefits declared as equal, and there being no non-consenting owners, road as viewed was declared a public high way and ordered opened, surveyed and platted. Limington Road. Report recommending road begin at northeast corner section 33, town ship 23 north, range 3 west; thence west on section line 1 mile to north west corner said section; thence south on section line 1 Vi miles to quarter corner common to sections 4 and 5 in township 22 north, range 3 west.
