After all has been said and done, there does not seem to be surh an urgent public demand !<ir the creation of Pondera count.\ as we have been led to believe. Of course Conrad wanted it, and we: do no’ much hlame them for tint; it is up to them to put a little new- life in their declining village. Six withdraw! petitions from Pon dera county would indicate that unles the outside communities m that section do not care to assist financially in tr\ing to keep the old hulk from going to the denmi- tion howbows. If the creation of a new- countv is as advantageous as some of its advocates claim, why does not Conrad join hands with Valier and ( T i t Bank and assi-t in making a j county worth while? It is po--i- - ble that Conrad might not be, made the county seat, and we pre - 1 sume that is the real reason ('on- rad wants a new county created, 1 hut with either Cut Bank or Va- : Her as the seat of government the necessity of “ going to ChoteauM would be obviated. Get busy, Conrad. Do something worth while just once. But perhaps Cut Bank or Valier would object to being in the same county. We are willing to admit that we Ind not given thrt feature of the prop osition any consideration what soever. Perhaps not, and wo could not blame them any if tho\ should object to it.
