Carolina Divorce Laws. [Cincinnati Times-Sfcar.] South Carolina lias no divorce laws and will not recognise the laws on that subject of any othei state. In South Carolina to be once married is to stay married until it is time to call in the un dertaker. It is recorded that a South Carolinian not many years ago left (he wife of his early man hood, and, removing to Florida, obtained a divorce, and at once assumed second matrimonial res ponsibilities. Later he returned to his native state to learn from a South Carolina court that the va lidity of his second marriage was not recognized in South Carolina, and that his children by that mar riage cou'd not, at least in that state, inherit his property . If the laws of all the state» approached the perpendicular attitude of South Carolina on divorce, mar riage would be regarded as a much more serious contract than men and women now regard it. Court ship would be longer drawp out, and marriage, therefore, not as sudden as an electric shock. ----------- --- .-« I » » . . - ----------------- - NOTICE OP APPLY\A.TiONT TO CUT TIMBER, ON PUBLIC LANDS, In accordance with the provisions o^ Section 8, Rules and Regulations pres cribed by the Hon oracle Secretary o [ the Interior, t, Samuel E, Ealston, o ' Choteau, (Jaoteau cou nty, Montana, hereby give notice, that at the expira tion of twenty-one [2L] day« from the first publication, of this notice, I w ill make written appl ication to the Hon orable Sec rots ry of the Interior for au thority to cut anti remoyc, all merchan table saw-log-, white spruce, red fir and white pins tinner from the uusurveyd public lands lying iu the said County of Choteau, and desciibed as follows, to-wit: Commencing at a point one-half mile west of the mouth of Blackleaf Creek canyon, thence running one mile north to the top of the divide between Dupuy er and Blackleaf creeks; thence follow ing said divide in a westerly direction one and one-half [1%] miles, thence south three [3] miles to the top of the divide between Muddy creek and the Teton river; thence in an easterly direc tion one and one-half, [1J£] miles along said divide, thence north to the place of beginning, and containing about 750,000 square feet of said spruce, fir and pine timber.
