The commissioners have appointed viewers and ordered the survey of a change in the road betwenn Choteau and Sun River, going west of Priest Butte instead of on the east side as now, in order to avoid leakage from the flume and ditch iu that point. The viewers on this road are Pete Trudo, C. W. Cooper aud J. P. Bouscaren. The other order is Tor viewing aud definitely lo cating the road from here to Sun River. The viewers are Thos. J. Baart. J. W. Ward and J. P. Bouscaren. These were promptly taken by his creditors. It was also discovered that not only had lie driven off his own horses, but oth ers, also, and to which he had no clear title. Telegrams were sent to Great Falls and Big bandy culling upon the stock inspectors to detain him and the horses. Further inquiry into Mr. Feli ly ’s methods disclosed three or four beef hides cached in a privy vault back o! the jail and near his stable. One bore Litch Taylor’s brand. The others were in a bad condition for examina tion and the brands were not made out. DISTRICT COURT NOTES In the district court at Fort Bentou Morning Screamer, Short Man and Prai rie Chicken, three Blood Indians who were up before Judge Du Bose for steal ing horses, were sentenced to eight years each in 1 he state penitentiary by bis honor. Tall Young Man, the youngest of the four on trial was sent home to his people to tell them of what had be come of the other three. County Attorney Tattan secured evi dence to prove that Brower had fixed up the ears on 174 coyote and wolf scalps, and the result was that Mr. Brower was fined $350 for his experfc- iluess. The judge gave him his choice of j m.ying the fine, or serving it out at $2 f ler’day. j Julian Burd was appointed adminis- tjrator of the estate of Samuel Burd de ceased, and his bond placed at $4,000. j Collins, Duer & Go., were granted a d' ecree of foreclosure of mortgage in their c.-ise against Julian Burd. .Owing to the illness of Mr. McPhee, on e of the jurors m the Hoyt case, the case w ns continued over to the next term of court.
