Peppard, who-has charge of the drilling, and ■Win iam Tegtmeier, one of the oarty that has been working in the field for several weeks, came in Weclnesday night from Dutton, and will remain here for a few days. They report an unexpected, ob^ stacle to the immediate prosecution •f drilling for oil in the first w“ll started. • The well had been sunk to a depth of 1,400 feet when ii ,wa» found that dry dirt was caving in, filling the hole faster than the dirt could be takon out.
