AGAINST SAID MEASURE NO. 54 WISDOM B E U L A H N E I D T Correspondent The fund-raising committee for the Community center, composed of Mrs. Argyl Stephens, Mrs. Clarence Helming, Harry Helm ing, and Weldon Else, met at the Clarence Helming home Thursday evening. Plans were made for a series of card parties to be held after the first of the year. Plans for a talent show with each or ganization in the community pre senting a skit were also discussed. Members of the committee will contact each organization and find out if enough oragnizations would participate to make the plan feasible. Two donations from Jackson business men were received and greatly appreciated. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Willey mo tored to Butte Sunday on busi ness. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Helm ing, Mrs. Ellen Kramer and Mrs. Jack Hurley were business call ers in Dillon, Saturday. Mr. Helming and Mrs. Hurley drove in two new Chevrolet cars for Helming Bros. Garage. Mr. and Mrs. Argyl Stephens and family and Mr. and Mrs. Har old Nelson and family enjoyed dinner and swimming at the Dia mond Bar Inn Sunday. Mr. Raymond Johnson and Mrs. Claude Anderson motored' to Butte Monday where Mrs. Ander son will remain for medical at tention. Tom Williams brought Mrs. Alice Arbour in Sunday from Dillon to take charge of the Wil liam’s home while Mr. and Mrs. Williams, who left Monday morn ing, go through the Western Mon tana clinic at Missoula. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Rasmussen and family spent Sunday visiting relatives in the Bitter Root. Bob and Harry Stewart were Sunday and Monday callers in Butte. The beautiful ranch home of Mr. and Mrs. Clark Huntley was the scene of a most enjoyable af fair given Friday evening for the benefit of the new Community center. A number of movies of Big Hole scenes were shown and later eight tables of pinochle were in play with prizes going to Mrs. Hans Lauesen, Harry Helming and Tom Clemow. Mrs. Huntley, assisted by Mrs. Clarence Helm ing, Mrs. Peter Rasmussen and Mrs. Tom Williams served re freshments at midnight. About $150 in donations was received for the Community center fund. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Glassey mo tored to Dillon Wednesday to make the acquaintance of their new grandson, Jack Edward, born Wednesday morning at the Bar rett hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Bill Brown of Dillon. From Dillon Mr. and' Mrs. Glassey went to Anaconda and Deer Lodge be fore returning home. Mrs. Glas sey left for Dillon again Sunday to spend a few weeks with her son-in-law and daughter follow ing the release of Mrs. Brown and her son from the hospital. Paul Temple and Ralph Hunt- ley of Dillon, Raymond Johnson of Wisdom, Ward Fanning of Butte and Darwin Simmons of Whitehall, part of the hunting party that packed in from Hogan station last week, returned to Wisdom Sunday with four elk. The Wisdom Women’s club will meet Saturday at the home of Mrs. Raymond Johnson. A repre sentative of the Singer Sewing Co. of Butte will give a demon stration on the use of Singer at tachments at this meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Carson and daughter, Irene, of Richmond Calif., were house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Chet Bruns the past week. Wisdom Chapter No. 67, O.E.S., held their regular meeting Wed nesday evening with Worthy Ma tron Dorathey Lloyd and Worthy Patron Dell Lloyd presiding. Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Helming were Mr. and Mrs. Bud Scott and family, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Munson and Mr. and Mrs. Bill M&rgan of Dillon. The grade school and pre school children celebrated their annual “trick or treat” night Fri day evening, calling at every home and business establishment in the community where treats were forthcoming. A few win dows and cars received a soap ing but the children’s behavior was good and as a reward they will enjoy a Halloween party at the Community building Tuesday evening under the sponsorship of the P.-T.A. Wisdom Lodge No. 61, AF & AM, will hold special communica tion Thursday evening, Nov. 2, at which time the grand master of the grand lodge, AF & AM of Montana, Mr. Percy W. Doles of Havre, will make his official vis itation. Mr. and Mrs. George Hansen of Anaconda spent the week end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Len Smith. Mrs. Stewart Capehart, who returned from Lincoln, Nebraska, Tuesday, left to meet Mr. Cape- hart in Spokane. Andy Elderidge, form er Wis dom resident, who now has ranching interests in Malta and also Lemhi, has been in the val ley the past week hunting and re newing acquaintanceships. Mr. Len Smith was a business visitor in Helena Monday. Cy Swartz of Salmon, form er Wisdom businessman was a val ley caller Friday. The Wisdom Cooking d u b met at the home o f Leader Mrs. Har old Nelson Saturday afternoon with seven members present. The afternoon project was baking chocolate cake.
