Batolo SCOUTS RECEIVVE AWARDS Pack 53 Cub Scouts of America met November 29 in the High School auditorium. The program included the Pledge to the Flag, Cub Promise, and the members sang and acted out the song, “ She’ ll be coming Round the Mountain.” • Cub Master Melvin Nyhart, gave the welcome and introduced the theme, Buckskin Pioneers. A three part skit in pantomine on Davy Crockett was presented with Ste ven Reynolds as narrator. Andre Morris, scoutmaster, gave a brief talk. There was a contest for the visiting father and one for the mothers, with Lester Reynolds and Mrs. Walter Shires being the win ners. Badge awards were pre sented with the Wolf Badge being given to Johnny Whitney and Kayp Nyhart. Bear Badge to Jimmy Shires, Jimmy Powers and Darryl Naugle. Steven Reynolds was given the Lion Badge, Gold Arrow, two silver arrows and was presented with his WEBELO Badge and is the first in Twin Bridges to achieve this rank. There was group sing ing of “God Bless America” and while Steven Reynolds read the last verse for a prayer, the audi ence hummed the song. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Walsh and family were Tuesday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Tash and son. Mrs. Burton Whiting and Mrs. Margaret Seyler and family were Dillon visitors on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank O’Keefe of Dillon, Mrs. Helen Brown of Alder and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mailey and Kathie were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bur ton Whiting and family. PLAN PRAYER VIGIL A Prayer Vigil for the Advent Season will be held at the Church of the Valley Friday, Dec. 7, from 6 a.m. to midnight and is spon sored by the Commission on Mem bership and Evangelism. ADMINISTRATORS MEET The Four Rivers Administrators Association met Tuesday night, Nov. 27, in the lunch room of the Twin Bridges grade school. Attend ing the meeting were Harold Reh- mer, Boulder; Bill Ball, Whitehall; Ron Mattson, Manhattan; A1 Com er, Belgrade; Joe Dickson, Ennis; Alve Thomas, Sheridan; Jesse Long, Earl Watts and Les Rey nolds of Twin Bridges. The follow ing ladies came with their hus bands and were the guests of Mrs. Phyllis Reynolds; Mrs. Reh- mer, Mrs. Mattson, Mrs. Comer, Mrs. Dickson, Mrs. Thomas, Mrs. Long, and Mrs. Watts. A tour of the Montana Children’s Center had been arranged through the courtesy of the officials. After a coffee hour at the Food Center, the ladies were escorted through the various departments of the Center by Mrs. Marjorie Finch, cottage supervisor. The Administartors and their wives had diftner at the Blue Anchor at 6:30 after which the men had another short business session. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Tash and family and Mrs. Maebelle Fauver of Helena were recent dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Tash and Ed. Mrs. Virgil Smith has gone to Seattle, Wash., to be with her sis ter-in-law Mrs. Burl Norris, who underwent surgery Wednesday morning at the University of Se attle Hospital. Mrs. Norris will be remembered as Mildred Jones, a former resident of Twin Bridges. Miss Karlet Balkovetz was an overnight guest Friday of Mr. and Mrs. James Morley and daughter. Miss‘ Vivian Sullender has re turned home from Great Falls where she spent several days as a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Cot- tom. Neil Hellickson of Englewood, Calif., arrived Sunday and was taken to Helena by Mr. and Mrs. Orrin Paige that evening. Rev. Holland Vernon of the Me thodist Church of Laurel held ser vices in the Church of The Val ley, Tuesday and Wednesday eve nings of last week. Each evening a coffee hour followed. ENTERTAINS 500 CLUB Mrs. Bess Lott entertained the 500 club on Wednesday. Lunch was served at the Blue Anchor af ter which cards were enjoyed at the Lott home. Present were Mrs. Norma Reid, Mrs. T. J. Morrow, Mrs. John Huck, Mrs. Alta Pit cher, Mrs. Charles Harvey, Mrs. Ethel Vandertuin, Mrs. John Sey ler, Mrs. Nellie Jones, Mrs. C. J. Cox, Mrs. W. B. Seyler, and Mrs. Una Jenkins. Prizes were won by Mrs. Morrow, Mrs. Reid and Mrs. Pitcher. HOSTS PINOCHLERS . The Pinochle Club met at the home of Mrs. Fred1 Naugle Thurs day evening. Hull and daughters were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Friend in Melrose. Mrs. K. G. Hull was a business visitor in Dillon on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Johnson mo tored to Bozeman Sunday and were visitors of their son Leroy who is attending college. PAST MATRONS ELECT ' The Past Matrons Club met at the Blue Anchor Thursday evening with Carolyn Hansen and Losee Hillier as hostess. Ann Reid, vice- president, presided at the business meeting and there was election of the following officers: president, Ann Reid; vice-president, Fern Seidensticker; secretary-treasurer, Norma Reid; chaplain, Florence Bryant. Plans were made for the Christmas party which will be held December 27 at the home of Ann Reid, with Una Jenkins and Beatrice Seyler, as co-hostesses. Following the business meeting, court whist was played with prizes going to Nellie Jones, Virginia Rankin and a guest Myrtle Ohl- rich. Among guests was Ethel Van dertuin. Refreshments were served at the close of the meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Lance left Monday for Gardiner where he has accepted employment. James Eyerly of Philipsbiirg, Pa., is a guest for a week in the home of his cousins Mr. and Mrs. John Seyler and Mrs. Ethel Van dertuin. Mr. and Mrs. James Jacobs and family were dinner guests on Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. George Albrecht and daughters of Alder. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Doak and family of Butte were guests for dinner on Saturday of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Giem* and Gary. They also called at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Giem and Mr. and Mrs. James Giem and family. The Cub Scouts held their regu lar weekly meeting Monday after noon at the Charles Whitney home. Present were Jimmy Powers, Jim my Shires, Johnny Whitney, Kayo Nyhart and Eddie Moltich; Lyle Morris and Andrew Nydam, den chiefs and den mothers Jean Hight and Mary G. Whitney. Kayo Nyhart was elected Denner and Johnny Whitney, assistant Denner. Following the meeting work was done on their Christmas gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Byron Bayers and family spent the weekend as guests of his brother-in-law and sister Mr. and Mrs. K. L. Staninger in Missoula. Mr. and Mrs. John Broksle and family and Mrs. Camilla Gage were dinner guests Saturday eve ning of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Allen Tezak and family in Sheridan, honoring his mother Mrs. Jessie Tezak on her birthday.
