Galler, head of the Biology Branch of Naval Research in West Palm Beach, Fla., emerges from a two-man submarine hatch (left). The Cubmarine (right) has room for research equipment in its 18-foot length and can reach the depth of 230 feet for biological observation of sea life. The underwater vehicle has an automatic air purification system that permits passengers to stay submerged up to eight hours. January meeting of the Madison County. Farm Bureau. Plans for this event were completed at the regular December meeting of the organization held at the Alder Community Hall Wednesday. Dec ember 5. All members are being contacted to line up a program of songs, skits and recitations by the child ren of the group. Installation of 1963 officers will also be featured at the January meeting. At the meeting in Alder it was moved and passed the county organization go on record as opposing Medicare or govemmept sponsored health insurance plans for the aged. BRIDGE CLUB WINNERS The Howell movement was used Wednesday evening a t the regular bi-monthly meeting of the Sheri dan Duplicate Bridge club. High scorers for the evening were Wal ter Sagunsky and David Birrer. Second was Rev. and Mrs. H. N. Tragitt and third was Mrs. Lowell Paige and Mrs. David Birrer. The group met at City Hall. PARENTS OF GIRL - Mr. and Mrs. James Maddison are parents of a girl bom Dec ember 5th at the Sheridan Emer gency Hospital. She has been named Carlie Joan and weighed 7 lbs. 3 ozs. Grandparents include Mrs. Mary Maddison of Sheridan and Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Green of Troy, Oregon. Carlie comes as a companion to one brother and two sisters. During the business session, thé group decided to or der new song books for the chap ter. They also made arrangements to send the chapter Christmas box to the Masonic Home for Children in Helena. A discussion was held on the forthcoming Christmas party which will be held Dec. 22 at 8 p.m. at the Masonic Hall. The party will also be a family night with Santa Claus in atten dance to distribute gifts. An Am ericanism program was given by Marguerite Rust who gave a read ing, “The Flag Speaks.” Ann Mc- Crea gave some information on James B. Upham, the author of the Pledge of Allegiance. She also presented some information on the proper way to give the pledge. Alice Gilman read “Facing the Sun” as a part of the program. Following the regular closing hos tesses Ella Elser, Margaret Elser and Edna Ellinghouse served re freshments. The attendance team of Georgia Schoeneck won the at tendance count for the evening. The contest between Mrs. Sehoen- eck’s team and that of Mrs. Kath erine Doombos closes on the Feb ruary regular meeting date. The couples joined with dancers from Bozeman, Butte, Harrison, Cardwell, Dillon and Sheridan, Wyo.
