SHERIDAN NEWS • Kay Hardin YULE PROGRAM The annual Sheridan Christmas program was w ell received Wed nesday evening at the high school when all students in the elemen tary school and high school music students presented a fast moving and highly entertaining program. Glenda Gum and Carolyn Toison, Sheridan high school students, presented a narration on the his tory and traditions o f Christmas throughout the evenings program . The theme, “ W h at Is Christm as?” was carried out in the musical se lections, decorations and narra tion. Mrs. S. P. K itt, director o f the program , was presented w ith a lovely g ift on behalf o f the school teachers in appreciation fo r the w o rk and d irection o f the program . The presentation was made by Charles B. Murray. The stage was effectively decorated with bells, stars, Christmas cards, trees and a manger scene. Many o f the dec orations were specially lighted. Leslie Jackson was in charge of lighting for the program . The love ly afghan, made by Mrs. Chris An derson, was presented during the evening t o Lynn Ellingshouse. Mrs. Anderson had donated the afghan to the Sheridan Hospital Auxiliary fo r use in the current Ruby Val ley Hospital Building drive. Santa Claus made his apperance at the end o f the program and presented a sack o f candy, fru it and nuts to each child attending and appearing in the program . The Anderson- Simpson Post No. B9 American Le gion sponsored Santa’s visit and assisted in handing out the treats. SNO-BALL DANCE FRIDAY Members o f the Sheridan Senior Class w ill sponsor their annual Sno-Ball dance Friday, Dec. 28 at the elem entary all-purpose room . Senior President Lewis Brown is in charge o f arrangements f o r the winter ball. Dancing is planned from 8 t o 12 p.m. with m u sic pro vided by Mrs. Sylvan Gallahan on the piano and Frank A x tell on the drums. A ltie Dudden, high school ommercial teacher is class ad- sor. Fire Chief Emmett Marsh an nounced the group w ill m eet at the Club Cafe in Sheridan f o r the holiday get-to-gether. A ll firem en and their wives are urged, t o at tend with a special sm orgasbord planned f o r 11 p.m. Marsh said the Club w ill not be closed to non-firem en but w ill be open that evening to include reg ular holiday patrons. NATIVITY PAGEANT Children o f Christ Episcopal church presented a nativity pa geant Christmas evening during the Christmas W orship service. The members o f the junior choir led the entire worship service which started at 7:30. Taking part in the pageant were M ary, Janet Sauerbier; Joseph, Lee Edmisten; Shepherds, Dean Edmisten, Charles Rossiter, M a x Steiner, and Bill W a llace; W ise Men, Terry Todd, Neal Todd, and Dan Tilton; A n gels, Dalee Elser, Tammy Todd, Jane Rossiter, K risty Sauerbier and Pamela Sim onsen; M odem Children, Donna Edmisten, Jimmy Rossiter, Christy Simonsen, Ken Steiner and Julie Todd. Recent visitors in the home o f Mrs. O tto Schultz were Mr. and Mrs. W illiam Gleed o f Dillon, Mr. and Mrs. Barclay Schulz o f Phoe nix and fam ily and Leonard Schulz o f Dillon. They called over the weekend. BAPTIZED Five members o f Christ Episco pal Church in Sheridan received baptism Sunday morning during the regular Sunday church ser vices, D ec. 23. Receiving baptism were Mrs. Howard Simonsen, her children Kivin, Pamela and Christy and Linda Anne Edmisten. Mem bers o f the church and their fam ilies gathered that-evening at the Odd Fellow s Hall fo r a pot luck supper and fellow ship hour. Mrs. L. M. Paige was in charge o f ar rangements and was assisted by Mr. and M rs. Jack Simonsen and Mr. and M rs. M a tt Peterson. Eve ning confirm a tion services were conducted in Christ Episcopal Church with Bishop Chandler Ster ling, Helena, conducting the ser vice. Dillon and Whitehall with glow ing Christmas trees and wreaths are presenting a happy holiday face in Sheridan this week. A lso adding to the Christmas dec orations is the tow ering Christ mas tree in city park which local businessmen com p leted decorating this week. The tree is resplendent with gold lights and has been greatly appreciated and enjoyed by the patients in the Sheridan Hos pital which faces the city park property. VESPER SERVICES HELD Vesper services presented by the junior, youth and adult choirs o f Bethel M ethodist Church were held Sunday afternoon. A lso pre senting a part o f the Christmas m u sic were the follow ing members o f the string quartet: Mrs. Ken neth Halse, M r s .(B y r o n Bayers, Dr. S. P. K itt aim Dr. W arren Swager. The choirs w e re directed by M rs. Sylvan Gallahan, Mrs. S. P. K itt and M rs. Vernon Klevgard. Soloists appearing on the a fter noon program w e re Mrs. Vernon Klevgard, Carol M cKenzie, Mrs. Jack Fenton, Mrs. Gayle Bray, Pam Halse and Myrna Gum. FATHER DIES Local residents extended their sympathies this w eek to Dr. and Mrs. S. P. K itt oil learning o f the death o f Dr. K itt’s father, Harry K itt in Butte last week. Funeral services fo r M r.
