Jack Conway accompanied Al- den Bennett of Virginia City1 to Bozeman Sunday. Many people attended the dance in Alder Saturday night given by Chick McLean and Jake Flood. A miscellaneous shower was held at the community hall Satur day evening for ■ Mrs. Francis Merzlak, nee Frances Hansen of Alder. The evening was spent in cards, games and music. A delic ious lunch was served by the hos tesses, Mrs. L. R. Hansen and' Mrs. Norman Conway, after which the honored guest opened her many lovely and useful gifts. Out of town guests included Mrs. Bill Jensen of Dillon, Mrs. Leo Musberger, Mrs. Lewis Han sen and Mrs. Herbert Hansen of Virginia City, and Mrs. Bill Fa- ger and Mrs. Rae V ~ \ y of Laurin. Other guests included Mesdames Henry Stone, Emerson Stone, Elizabeth Stone,, Hans Hansen, Chris Hansen, Herman Hansen John Huck, John , Anderson, Pete Anderson, Grover Qoetchius, Eiiza Showe, Art Mazola, Cleo Hynd- man, Paul Blaseg, Bill Kelly, Lucy Gainain, Frank Conway, Bill Mc Kenzie, Mary Salmonsen, Nels Salmcnsen, jr., Norman Fries, Kate McDonald, Chris Larson, Od- J. B. Garrison of Butte visited a few days' last week at the Gar rison home here. Mr,:, and Mrs. Arthur , Reichle were dinner . guests ' of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Polish Sunday. John Walters and James Jenk ins of Dillon spent a few days last, week repairing their hotel prop erty here. Mrs. Joe Arbour and children came home Monday from Elkhorn Springs, where Mrs. Arbour had been operating a hotel durîng the summer. Miss Jessie Kramp is clerking at the Reichle store. . Lars Kalsta attended a direc tors’ meeting of EHe R. E. A. at Twin Bridges on Saturday. Miss Bertha Huber and Mrs. A. Thompson of- Dillon visited Mrs. Veronica Hartwig one day during thé week. • Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Ahders were their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Will Ahders of Butte, and their grandson and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Billie Ahders of Great Falls. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gamer of Butte visited Mrs. R. R. Landon one day last week. They were en boute home from California. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Piccone en tertained a number of their friends at an evening party Saturday. The guests enjoyed games and visit ing. An appetizing lunch was served by the hostess. ~ Mrs. Lucy Briggs of Redwood City, Calif., arrived here Satur day for a few days’ visit with Mr. and Mrs. Lars Kalsta. Mrs. Briggs is Mrs. Kalsta’s aunt. She will later visit her sister, Mrs. Mag gie Hand, at Blue Bay, near Poi son. Dave Hagenbarth sold two car loads of cattle from the Consoli dated Farms. TOWNSEND MEETING—- The Townsend club will meet on Thursday evening at 8 o’clock* in file courthouse. Two ' speakers from Butte will be on h^nd to give addresses. Mrs. T. T.
