Last Saturday afternoon the Stanford communi- ty celebrated tlw first anniversary of America's en- trance hit (It hi' war by holding a con»nunity service flag unveiling . This celebration Was one o r the nieest and most to celebrations that has ever been held in this community. At Iwo o'cloek the band took - their place on the • street and led the crowd to the City hall and a tine crowd it was. Every chair in the hall was tilled and standing mom was .at a premium. The band and orchestra opened the program with . a few selections that were greatly appreviated. The Itand has been organized only a few days but they did some fine work anal showed that they would be second to noin• when regular Iliad ire is begun. Following the orchestra the crowd joined in singing three of the national songs and this singing was partieipated in with abundance of spirit and eve r yone agree d t h a t manint i n ity s i ng i ng was f ar ahead of individual work for a program of this kind.
