Kendall. Montana, October 21', 190: TOWN TALK. Butte, Mont., is famed through the northwest from the fact that it has but a single tree. More are to be set out and cultivated. Montgomery, Ala., claims to be the most American city. All its inhabi- tants except two per cent., were born in the country. Oklahoma has 135 state banks and 55 natioal banks, with a total deposit of $15,500,000. The population of the territory is estimated at 700,000. The largest goat ranch in the world is owned by Charles S. Ondert donk, of Lamy, N. M.. He has 20,000 goats and they have 28,000 acres in which to roam. Pittsburg has decided to establish a thoroughly equipped public wash - house for the benefit of the poor women who make a living as laun- dresses. A room will also be provided for the care of their children. After July 1 no person in South Caro- lina may carry a pistol about him, either concelaed or unconcealed, unless it is at least 20 inches long and weighs at least three pounds. This law was passed a year ago. It nr.nly prohibts the carrying of pistols Wider the re- quired size, but it also forbids any firm, person or corporation to sell, offer for vale, manufacture or trans- port any such weapon. Peace officers are exempted under the law. Many people in the suburbs of Bos- ton have required the seri ices of phy- sicians onaccountof being poisonedby the larvae of the brown -tail moth. now infest the shade and fruit trees throughout Malden. The poisoning from the catterpillar is caused by it dropping from a tree on a person's skin. The fuzz with which the catterpillar is covered enters the pores and makes a painful and irritating rash, which sometimes spreads to all parts of the body. NOVELTIES IN THE STORES.
