The Children's day offering in Ken- dall for the extension of Sunday Schools throughout the United•States was $8,45. Steve Saicic locked up the Stephens' hotel on July 4th so he could celebrate in Lewistown without worrying about how things were running at home. Every piece of fire -work in Kendall was sold early in the afternoon of the Fourth. Those who waited until even- ing to purchase their sky rockets, etc., were disappointed. Several small parties climbed up to high points on the mountain side on the night of July 4th, to see the fireworks in Lewistown. The lights could be seen all right but the distance was too great to distinguish any one number from the others. Did you ever try a 35c dinner at the Acme Cafe in Lewistown? They are the best io town. Next door to the Majes- tic buffet. Walter Cox will soon arrive in this section with his sawmill which has been in service at Landusky cutting lumber for E. W. King's cyanide mill. Mr. Cox has a contract to saw a lot of timber for W. A. Shaules. Work will begin this week on the stone foundation for the new high school building in Lewistown. Tubbs Brothers have sub -let the contract for the stone work to Peter Tus. Lang, of the Kendall mine, received a telegram a couple of weeks ago from his wife stating that her mother, Mrs. McDer- mott, was seriously ill at Wallace, Idaho. Mr. Lang immediately left for the scene of trouble and succeeded in arriving' at the bedside of the sick woman before her death, which occurred on the 24th of June. Mr. Lang will return to Keneall next Thursday. According to the Fergus County Argus Lewistown has a few . mighty- tough youths. We are not proud of the fact, but it is true that some of our Kendall \kids\ can give the Lewistown boys cards . and spades when it comes to right down mean deviltry. The worst of it is that some of the Kendall youths are educated in evil ways by those whose duty it is to set the children a proper example.
