The teachers' institute of this county was in session at Lewistown last week. The scores were; First game, 19 to 9 in favor of Kendall; second ganiaal4 to 5 in favor of Lewistown; third game, 18 to 1: in favor of Kendall. The last game • went to Kendall -20 to 16. In the game Sunday everything went along nicely until tile fifth inning, when both sides began playing loose ball. However, the games as a whole were interesting, and fair crowds witnessed them. 11. K. Neil Tells About a Great Oil Field in Alaska. R. K. Neal, manager of the Kendall Company's psoperty, returned front Alaska a few days ago, and is entlinsi- aetic about oil. \Without question there is fine Oil in the Kyak oil fields of Alaska, and I look for that distriet to make one of the great oil districts of the world,\ said Mr. Neil in an interview. \The English company is sinking a well which was down 375 feet when 1 Was there, and it hail not reached the oil sands, but the pressure was so great that the oil was flowing from around tlutcas- lug of the well at the rate of twenty bar- .-els a day; and it wits being used as fuel to run the engine. \Two other companies are putting up rigs. I and Clarence Cunningham of Wallace, Idaho, are interested in some oil lands there. M. J. Sinclair and Jelin A. Finch of Spokane are also intereeted lit the district. The oil has been thor- oughly tested and it • is of very high grade. The Stamford Oil people are not going in.
