This often interferes with other receiving sets in the vicinity, as these waves emitted by the receiving set are hot the same as a wave from a trans- mitting station, and will be picked up on a neighboring set as a whistle. This, of course interferes with an - others entertainment. • • • However, when a regeneratilreeeet radiates in -this manner, nine - times out of ten the operator of lee of- fending receiver is to blame. There is no necessity for causing this Inter- ference and if the operator would learn to tune his set properly. there would be little came. Lair complaint, When a set is so adjasted that it is constantly wheeling on a station wave, no one (not even the operator of the offending set) can Mitten to that station without getting the whistle. It is, therefare, to the at! - vantage of every owner of a regen- erative set to so tune his receiver that this condition doer; nor exist • • • There are some receleers bearing the name \regenerative\ which do not radiate whistling. Two popularly known sets of this type are tbe Crosley TrIrdyn and Radlobt *Re- renoflex. These seta do not radiate beesuee they have an addition of a stage of tuned radio frequency am- plification ahead of the regenera- tive detector circuit and the Pri- mary of the entennn coil is tin - tuned or eperimile. This, of course, eliminates the trouble, as it remover, the offending part of the circuit far from the antenna and therefore the detector cannot Impress any energy upon It. if you have n. regenerative net It ran he chanced to one of these ?streets and your troubles In offend- ing your neighbor* are at an end. If owners of regenerative \squeallne sets could hear the remarks made by their neighboring listener, they would be more rot in toning their note or use mechod to prevent riiiiiirtlee often reale COTO- POMP ouramorioftwormaposerso ERNES ADLER - Contractor and Builder HARDIN, MONT. 10111011111114111010010.11041140101\ Dr. C.
