The meeting with t•his lodge was especially pleasing and interesting to the grand warden hecause here she met with an old friend and sister Rebekah in Mrs. J. N. DeVore. who is the oldest Rebekah, in point of years' membership, in I -he state of Montana, having been initiated at Milford Center. Ohio. in June, 1877. Later she transferre4 to Corning. Iowa, where she met and became an intimate friend of Mettle - Boyd. Mrs. DeVore is the only one left of the five who instituted the Rebekah lodge here. Agricul-: tural prospects are especially, bright with good crop prospeicts.I Among the improvement projects, is the Valley Center drainage • •m, now nearing completion, which will reclaim some 18,000 acres of land that is threatened, with being water-logged as a re - Suit of constant irrigation. \The Holly Sugar corporationi which takes the producj, from the Hardin vicinity of the Big Horn and Little Big Horn valleys has announced that approximately 8,009 acres of suger beet's al- ready have been contracted this year at a minimum pince of $6 with assurance that the growers, will receive the same price that: is paid by other sugar cornipanies. 1 The sugar beet. average last year was It tons to the acre, Mr. Buell learned, - aid One farm- er told him of making $110 gross per acre on beets. This company, said Mr. Bud. has 25,000 acres in win - t e r wheat which has come through the winter with a much smaller loss than was at first believed, according tri Mr. Camp- bell. Mr. Campbell also told Mr. iDnel that he expects to plant 8,000 acres to flax this year. He said there are still thousands of acres t.hat can be leazsed, and among the best flax lard in the world. \Beans are coming to the front as one of the important crops of Big Horn county, says Mr. BuPl. It is reportvd that there will be about 3,500 acres in beans. this year. Last year ._J. C.
